Best Receiver for a Newbie Please Help... Buying one tonight.
Hello all, I need some suggestions on the best receiver to buy for a newbie. Basically an easy one, also one with good support.
Please help as I want to purchase one tonight. I was looking at a coolsat 6000 or a 6100, but I have read some negative info on coolsat, so can anyone help me out?
Also, looking for a low priced box, just in case i blow it up playing with it.
Thanks in advance!

I'm buying a Sonicview 360 Elite and I have never owned an FTA reciever before. Looks like a great product, and the support seems to be great. One of the sponsers here Satmaniacs has them on sale too this week.

IKS=Internet Key Sharing, here lately, they have all been in need of updates. The faster ones to release fixes are Sonicview, Captain...

Viewsat or Sonicview have some good priced receivers out there and they are both backed up with great support.
For Viewsat take a look at an Ultra and for Sonicview check out the SV360 series and the SV4000 recievers.
and also go here for reciever reviews
What have you decided to buy??

Re: Best Receiver for a Newbie Please Help... Buying one tonight.
Some of you might be upset, but I ended up buying the coolsat 6100. One big thing was the autosetup and the next big thing was the price, I got one really cheap, for my first box I didn't want to spend a ton especially for a hobby experiment. After using for a while I see myself dishing up (haha little joke) more money for a advanced box possibly with a pvr. I do have a question though, is there many channels in HD if I was to get a HD pvr box?

As I understand it, there are more HD channels on BEV than DN. What dish are you going to use?

Real cheap? Hopefully you purchased from an authorized CS Dealer and not a clone. My understanding is that bin files released for genuine receivers don't necessarily work in clones.
