SonicVeiw 8000HD

I am sure I am not alone when I say how pissed I am when Comcast cable went to a 3 to 1 on there HD channels. I my picture went from wow to WTF?
Looks like I will be dropping coin on a Soniveiw 8HD with installed module but I am worried about picture quality. Are the HD channels picture like Holy Crap! good or more like "Oh it's ok".
I would like to know from people who have it.

With the picture quality? I know its great and has all the features but is the picture really 1080I/720P. My cable box says it but it sure doesn't look it.

The picture quality is the best!!! Absolute best!!! I had a SV8K HD and then because of problems, had to do without it for 2 months and tried two other
stbs., nothing could compare!! As you can see, I love it!! Yes it really is 1080, it can't compare with the cable company HD you mentioned...I have it also. Testing has been a pleasure. Good luck.

50" Panasonic Plasma. Versa series. When I got it the reviews said it beat out other plasmas running at 1080P while it was running 1080I at 10 feet. Honestly I fealing giddy!

Great tv. I'm using a Panasonic 50" Plasma also but mine is the Viera model.
It's a real knock out.

Sorry for double post, but I was a bit concerned about the electrical consumption of a 50" plasma. So, I switched all my incandesent light bulbs to those new compact flouresent bulbs in my house and must admit that my electrical bill is now less even with my plasma. It's a win win situation. Hdtv got me going green and it works.

I hate to go off topic but I too have tried to switch to Florescent bulbs but I have nearly all my lights on dimmers so its kinda of hard to switch my whole house out. Electric is still crazy though. My MH over my tank doesn't help either.
