need a budget reciever with good reliability
currently testing a coolsat 4000. i don't need a dvr, hd, or any great features right now. i'm simply looking for a stb that has better support and reliability. i'd appreciate any replies with stb models.
so in short, tell me about a cheap box that's up more than it's down and has new bins pretty soon after an ecm.
if i posted this in the wrong spot, then go ahead and move it. i did take the time to scan the forums, and this seemed like the best spot for my topc. thanks again everyone.

I agree with Fern, any viewsat or sonicview are great receivers. You could also try out a captive works or a conaxsat. I really like my kbox, the picture is amazing, for non hd of course.

CW700, VS Ultra, SV4000, CNX Mini, they are all great STBs, with exceptional support and fair prices.Simple, easy to use units.

Re: need a budget reciever with good reliability
There are wonderful suggestions in the preceeding posts about Sonicview n Viewsat recievers..both manufacturers have a great line of stb that fit all needs n budgets..VS-ULTRA from n SV-4000 are hugly polular with user friendly features that are cost effective and have a prompt reliable support network right here.
You may explore the dedicated section for reciever reviews on the site here..I'm sure you will find VS-ULTRA or SV-4000 stand out in your options..
Enjoy the show n stay rt here with ABAdss for all ur updates n resources to take it to the next level my friend.. ...

Re: need a budget reciever with good reliability
Just stay away from pansat, coolsat and nfusion. My personal feelings of course, so no i will not argue how one of those is great or not.

Re: need a budget reciever with good reliability
thanks you all a lot. i appreciate it. i can easily do my own research and narrow things down now that i know what my best options are. how do you guys get decent picture? my cs4000 is currently connecting to the tv with composite cables (red yellow white.) i can't even watch certain movies if the setting is so dark. does anyone have a simple fix with either a viewsat or sonicview? i'm sure the cables on those boxes are basically the same. oh, and my box has dvi, component, composit, but no coaxial cable input. i might need an adapter.

Re: need a budget reciever with good reliability
The sv 4000 has great support, just bad picture. The best picture i have on any non hd receiver is the kbox k1 hero`s. Using the green blue and red cables.
