FTA Receiver w/ HDD
HI,
I see a lot of FTA receivers that allow you to connect an HDD to it, but I haven't seen any that have internal one already built in. Do any exist?
Thanks

Re: FTA Receiver w/ HDD
performance will increase with internal, BUT... heating problem will also show up due to HDD generating heat & FTA.
another issue is compatibility issues, as external HDD could be any size, but internal HDD has to be coded so it can work that would be limit to specific size & make/model.
With all this, most would rather have external HDD.

But the transfer rate through USB for media is SO slow. So you're saying no mfg has internal HDD's ?

Re: FTA Receiver w/ HDD
I've played tons of movies off my HDD into USB on my captiveworks. USB data speed is not an issue. High def might be more bandwidth intensive, though.

Re: FTA Receiver w/ HDD
I can't help out there. My experience is limited to CW800S PVR. No internal HDD. I can say that using an 8 GB flash drive wasn't as reliable as using an HDD. Had a couple movies record with audio out of synch with video.

They all use USB2.0, that isn't slow at all.
My sv-360 Elite records 2 programs and allows me watching a recorded one, all at the same time, on a single drive through the same USB port.
