Shortly SONYSAT will release a high-end set-top boxes packed with advanced features such as PVR Ready Dual Recorder, USB 2.0 and Networking Interface, Sonysat are currently focusing almost exclusively on deploying basic High-End Set-To box with PVR Capability dual recording and USB 2.0 . But this will change, as demand for new services grow and costs of deployment fall. This report describes the adoption rates of a range of emerging set-top box features and technologies, and describes the market segmentation which is likely to evolve.
