Re: best receiver?
I have them both. It all depends if you want HD. Well worth the money, but the the elite and premier are a great receivers for less than $200.

Re: best receiver?
I have to say the best hd receiver under the current situation with nag 3 coming soon.would be the nfusion hd, but sonicview 8000 is the best receiver i have ever owned. great support, great satellite scanning, great guide, dvr is very easy to use. time shift a little buggy but i could live with that.the picture quality on this receiver on hd is nice to, and just very easy to setup. over all the best receiver on the market now. if it was only iks capable.

Re: best receiver?
Put me down for the Sonicview 369 ;-) Elite PVR Dual Tuner because a dual is twice the fun! Superb support with Sonicview, one of the best for sure... That said, the only thing I can add to the search for the perfect receiver beyond Sonicview would be a proven IKS receiver perhaps like Nfusion, but I've yet to test an Nfusion because my Sonicview 360 has been FLAWLESSSSS Brudda, I go no further that Sonicview 360 Elite PVR ya baby!

Re: best receiver?
Dear All,
We all know that Pansat has finally introduced its "smart search" module for HD, (I hope) giving its 9200HD full blind scan for both SD and HD frequencies. I have heard that the 9200HD's ability to sense and log SD frequencies may not be so good as we would like it to be, so it will be exciting to learn how well the new module's ability really is better than the ability of the receiver's SD portion. And, what the heck, maybe the SD side has been improved too.
I understand that Sonicview's SV-HD8000 has full blind scan for both SD and HD already, but I do not know how well it works. Especially, I do not know how well it compares with the Pansat's.
I am contemplating buying one of these two receivers; and, as I am a "pure FTA" guy, I would like you folks to tell me what you think of them. I will probably ask again in a couple of months, when several people have had experience with the new module, but I am curious now.
Does the Sonicview reliably detect and log frequencies for its channel-list, or does it miss a lot? Ditto for the Pansat. I have looked at both receivers' manuals, and I have learned how they are supposed to function, but that is all. I have no experience with either one.
What do you think? Please let me know.
And, thanks.
