reccomendations for a new receiver ..?
after enjoying the old pansat 2500a for a while now ( i only paid $6 at the thrift store ! )...i would like to get something modern reliable, easy to use , simple to load bins to...and dirt cheap !
due to the possible chance these receivers will be not useable when nag 3 is here...i do not want to spend much till after that settles down.
so cheap, standard def box ....even pvr option might be nice....appreciate any answers and help.........

If cheap is the prime objective, see if you can snag a used CW700 or a SV4000 unit.
Both are really good.
What is your budget?

You can pickup deals left and right on fleabay. Used receivers have been known to go for under $100. Not sure you'll find another $6 stb

What a deal on the 2500. The SV-360 Premier and Elite are great receivers. Sonicview had been showing it strength lately. Viewsat Ultra Lite is also a great receiver. Then there is the Nfusion Solaris and SD. All of these have a price between $100 - $170. Good Luck, let us know what you end up with.

i think you mean ultra lite has usb programming not VS lite.
SV 360 elite is the best pvr out there and i'm a VS fan so there ya go. a bit more than 6 bucks. might get one for 160. the VS ultra lite is a great little stb. i have one and its great. dont make the mistake as i did and buy a cnx mini or nano for a pvr. they are great receivers and i love 'em but they are useless as a pvr.

i like my CW700 the EPG sucks but other than that it's great... paid like 100 but you can find it cheaper.... Just whatever/whereever you buy it from get an authorized dealer. cw650 are pretty cheap with good support
