Nfusion, Can you help explain?
Ok Amigos, prior to asking, I looked for the answers but could not find. I will be switching from cw to nfusion as cw support has fallen behind big time. I do not need hd so I will buy the Phoenix model. I understand it works via IKS. My questions are as follows. I have a router at home and everything is wireless. How does this nfusion work as far as computer goes. Does it have to be hooked up to my computer 24/7 or can I simply plug it in to the router via ethernet port? Does it come with a Deseq switch? Does it need one? I have DP500 dish. One last thing, my connection to internet is not extremely fast but it is fast enough to use vonage, does internet speed matter? Gracias Amigos for your help.

Re: Nfusion, Can you help explain?
Given that everything is wireless you'll likely want to get a Netgear 606 unit. And use this at the TV/Nfusion end of the equation.
If you have DPPlus LNB's, you will not require a desq switch, but it does come with one.

Re: Nfusion, Can you help explain?
Genius, thank you for responding. Part of what I meant to ask is that I do not wish to spend any more than I have to. So, straight out of the box, does the phoenix connect to my cpu, or to my router? is it via ethernet cable? and if to cpu, does it have to be 24/7? Thanking in advance for all the help.

yes it needs to be plugged in all the time to your router.....if your internet connection is slow (not high speed) you will most likely get alot of picture freezing.....

In most situations, the set up looks something like this:

Re: Nfusion, Can you help explain?
Muchas gracias! You people are awesome. I appreciate all of your help. As far as my internet connection goes, I do not have cable or dsl, I live out in the sticks so I have a broadband antenna and it averages about 1mbps which is pretty decent. This should do...right?

Re: Nfusion, Can you help explain?
Yup broadband antenna should be ok, as I understand it. Just make sure you have a method of getting the internet to the nFusion, like that of the Netgear 606 shown in the diagram above.

Re: Nfusion, Can you help explain?
Genius, I don't mean to sound repetitive but I am ignorant when it comes to these matters. In your illustration, you have the pc, a blue lynksis router, a dsl/cable modem, the fta, and of course the tv. In my home, I have the pc, the blue lynksis router. I do not have a dsl/cable modem. I have a cable that comes from the outside of antenna with an ethernet type connector that I can connect directly to my pc or to a wireless router. I of course have it hooked up to my blue router. Can I just connect the nfusion directly to the router (blue one in illustration) and be good to go? Another words, you provided illustration of wireless configuration. What about a "direct connect" illustration? I am assuming that if I dont want to go wireless, I can just connect the nfusion directly to an ethernet port on my wireless lynksis router. Is this correct?
