The best approach is to get a 1000.2 or similar dish with a low band circular lnb required to get indian channels from Anik F3.

Most popular FTA receivers are Viewsat, SonicView and CaptiveWorks. Some have PVR function and if you like to record, get one that has a PVR capability. Don't worry about HD as none of the indian channels are in HD.
