Re: about all the brands of receivers
There is no "BEST" receiver.
The Best receiver is the one that works for you taking under consideration a few factors:
-HD
-PVR
-USB Load
-Fast support history
-IKS
-Money Value
First you need to find out what it is that you want in a receiver and then do some research on the available brands

Thats why we have a receiver review section here friend. Depending on what you want to spend and what you want such as pvr/hd or maybe running though the internet with iks.
These will all be things you consider first.

Re: about all the brands of receivers
I would like to know the same thing which box is going to be the best for at least the next 3 years. It takes me that long to save up enough to buy one. LOL I have a fortec and pantac and love them they are so easy to work and I have never had a real problem with them other than when I goof and put the wrong file in but I learned to fix that problem. so now what box is going to be on top??

Re: about all the brands of receivers
A good box for the next years would be hard to predict since new boxes are being released. I would say for the price and support CW700 is the best w/o IKS box. The best IKS box ( in regards to price and support) is Nfusion. Both are under $200 with the CW700 being found at near $100.
The CW700 would be the best bet for a newbie because it is cardless right now but will have IKS ( according to announcement) within the next few months (announcement said June).

Re: about all the brands of receivers
For me, the best box is view--t 2k, is one of the first to come out with the fix.
I could be wrong, but I stick with it.

Re: about all the brands of receivers
Thats a big question and everybody will tell you the box they have is the best. I have a few receivers. But bottom line if you just want TV that is almost always on and no or minor EMC problems with more channels and sats(i think) then other IKS receivers nfusion and yes I have one. Just my point of view. But like always before you buy read read read. Also look in the help threads and see what receivers look to have more problems then others. Good luck
