The College Baseball World Series finals are set. The Texas Longhorns will play the mighty LSU Fighting Tigers in the best of 3 beginning Monday. The 2 teams are both undefeated in World Series play. Texas had to squeeze out their 3 wins while the Tigers cruised to easy victories , and the margin of victory was the largest in College World Series history. Texas was rated #1 and LSU # 2 yet LSU is ranked #1 in the country by every collegiate poll. LSU has the most victories in the nation while Texas did not rank in the top 10 in most polls. LSU scored nearly 35 runs in their 3 CWS games with an 11 point per game average while Texas could not score 11 points total in 3 game.
Despite these statistics we can expect a good series between these 2 teams. Texas has been to the show16 times with 5 championships while LSU has been 15 times with 5 championships. Also despite being the #2
ranked team behind Texas in the CWS, LSU is favored to win the championship again this year, and to repeat next year with only 1 senior on the starting team.
My final "unbiased"...lol...opinion is GO TIGERS, win it all then bring on football.
