Right now there is rumor that Viewsat will be using IKS (Internet Key Sharing) in the newest files. And for you negative people here is a pic of of what can be used.
This is a Rs232 (serial post) to RJ45 (LAN port). What this will do it "PUSH" the updates to the receiver like a Neosat and other IKS compatible receivers. Receivers like this can be run in 2 ways. IKS mode meaning it will share the "key subscription" and works with Nagra3. Since it's not a wide open you just share someone's legit subscription. The other mode it can run in is full emu, loading the updates like we do now and unlocks everything by autorolling the public key. A public key is a "master" key that unlocks everything.. I know what yer thinking and say why do they need a public key? I can go into detail but this is about IKS.
Next question is Will all receivers be able to use IKS? In theory yes, it's matter of programing and making a "dongle" like the one pictured above and making the drivers work for it. Same kinda drivers are needed for any USB device on a receiver. Coders made a universal driver for FAT 16 and i think 32 but NTFS is not compatible because the driver is for FAT.
All i can say is i hope with works out and IKS will soon be here.
"Angel wrote this here is your credit"
BTW -- I wrote this article out of pure rumor. I notice it on other FTA sites, some calling it rumor or fact but there is no fact to it. I was mealy stating that after all is said and done IKS is not impossible for viewsat receivers. Anyone that feels like plagiarizing me can but at least give me some credit.
