Yes, Eclipsemoon is right. Plus the SV8K seems to be a little sensitive on some units as far as plugging things in and removing them. Sometimes it says it doesn't recognize it. I have heard it is best, if not in use, when you turn the SV8K off from the rocker switch, that you remove the hard drive connection. Because when turning back on the receiver and it boots up, it sometimes doesn't recognize the hard drive. It may be ok with yours, but like I said, I've heard of some sensitive ones.
