Pinging them once a minute won't hurt them at all.

Don't over estimate them. I doubt they could afford a server farm. Plus it would be too dangerous to have a large sum of servers. These guys are quick and light. They rent a few servers. When Charlie shuts them down. They switch servers and continue like nothing happened. I doubt they own there own equipment. I work at a major ISP. I deal with spammers all day and they are very similar.
