Question pointing at dish hd sat ?

i went out and bought a new toy this weekend a sony 52" lcd ...now comes the fun parts ..... i am currently a active subscriber of dish with their "basic" package but also i "test " there channels with an old 2500a on an old bedroom analog tv and i also own a pansat 9000 hd . so a few questions ....
(1).ok first from reading some forums... is a pansat9000 "true hd" ? is it going to get me true hd channels ? i thought i read somewhere that there is some involement in buying some kind of 8psk board or something that has to be installed into the 9000 box versus the 9200 which is tru hd ? ok so if so how much is this board ,where do i get one, and how much is involved in installing this board?????
question (2)... as a subscriber of dish and if i was to call up them and have them install "hd channels " i know they come out to your house and install a second dish on your roof and its pointed way eastsoutheast but alot more eastern , so if i was to take and old dave dish with single lnb ,... does anyone know the cordinates and direction (azimuth, elevation, etc) and how do i hook up this second dish to get true hd channels ? i believe that you run a rg6 line from that lnb and "piggy back " it to the input on the dish500 head ... im not sure about all this but id like to know and get someones opinion ???

Re: pointing at dish hd sat ?

Ok first off u do need the 8psk module to get hd in any fta box. Second you can get skew elevation etc from dishpointer.com and third not many dave lnb's work for dish your better off getting a second dish 500 with single dp lnb and running that into the twin on your other dish that is if your current dish lnb is a dish pro plus with and input

Re: pointing at dish hd sat ?

that old dave dish and lnb will work
you are talking about 61.5 west but you would be better off on 129w
yes you can piggy back the 2 dishes
if you will post your zip i will give you the settings

Re: pointing at dish hd sat ?

thanks bigeveil and everyone else for there input ...but where do i get a module to install in my box? about how much are they ? and has anyone installed one ?.... how hard to install?
also my zip would be in the scranton/wilkes barre area of pennsylvania and the closet zip is 18504 ...... but i have to ask what is the difference between 61.5 and 121 .. i dont want to be confused as to looking for bev because i believe bev is in that same area but i would take cordinates for bev also but i know a friend of mine who is a paid subscriber called dish up to get hd chammels and they came to his house and installed a second single lnb dish along side his dish 500 and piggy backed into his head on the lnbs on the dish 500 but it is pointed in a total differnet direction than dish its pointed almost east.. so if i do this has anyone set it up and how do i set up etc on menu on pansat box along with scanning to receive hd channels ?

Re: pointing at dish hd sat ?

check any of our sponsors for the module
dn has several differnt sats with hd on them 61.5 and 129 are the most popular
the 61.5 is the one that looks "east" compared to the regular dn dishes
piggy backing the 2 dishes will work if you have a dp plus lnb on the main dish and a dp lnb on the second dish just run cable from single lnb to the dp plus lnb
as far as setup setup same as the other sats
the module is not hard to install

Re: pointing at dish hd sat ?

im being told that the pansat9000 hd box does not have an open pci slot inside it once the cover is removed to install the 8psk module to get true hd channels ... im told only the 9200 so i dont understand why pansat advertised my 9000 as hd when its not ? can anyone confirm this ? has anyone installed a module into a 9000 ?
