Hi JJudd33, I wouldn't throw it in the trash. Don't give up hope and there is always true free FTA channels that you could pick up.
As far as a "fix" being out, if and when it does happen, ABA will have all the information you'll need....but ABA will make sure it is the truth and that it has been verified. I, myself would not trust the rumors that are circulating elsewhere.
Hope you decide to hang out with us and enjoy the forums and get to know your way around.
And, you may want to consider the suggestion given by Buddy, one of our best! Good luck!

I consider Panny & Coolie in the same book. (History Book) lol
Never throw away a working unit. (someday you may get a 3rd party solution)
But forget about dinosaurs and move into the future. (iks) nFusion / CNX / kBox / iLink

Re: What hope is there???
Even if you don't wanna use it for true fta you can always use it for sighting in satellites

"sighting satellites" means you can use it to aim dishes in the future (or at least i think thats what he meant).....
yes you can still get channels on your box.....you can always get clear, unencrypted channels on both ku and c-band if you have the right equiptment/dishes/lnbs to do so.....this is what your receiver is meant for.....
