Re: help dont know what to do .. couple problems!
biglouf,
You may need to hang out a bit and wait for your keys to roll after the upgrade. For a brief period of time (with certain releases) I was able to enter in a 106 key slot, manually enter my keys, save them and go back to verify they were there. I tried entering in a 106 slot and the keys but they won't save with the latest releast. Neither will the 101 key data when you enter it in the slot they provide. You have to wait for the software to manipulate the keys on this box. I had people tell me that was the case in earlier releases but that was not the case in every release. I always rescan my birds after I upgrade and factory reset. With ECHO you need to have one of Charlies boxes power up all the time to run the LNB's on a 500. Verify your Sat and DISEQ settings. If that doesn't work go back and load 140, do a factory reset and load 609 on top of that, do a factory, verify the sat, switch settings and rescan the birds for channels.
The guide was pretty bad on this box for a long time but is now at least usable. You need to be parked on one of the channels listed below to get the guide to populate properly even on a cold restart from the switch in the rear. It used to work at startup and then you had to be parked on certain channels to get it to function properly inside the EPG. Now you have to be parked on one of the channels regardless. The 250 has good picture, hardware quality but the code has been lacking and not what I expected out of company with Pansat's reputation. It has been improving. They also added some PVR funtions to the box but I haven't tested them since the first release. I wasn't to thrilled with a PVR function with a guide that was barely usable. I used my 250 as a backup for my Visionsat 200 PVR. With the garbage code NORW has been releasing for months it's now a doorstop and the Pansat is my primary. I've had it on constantly for about four days now. On occasion I will have to go channel up or down a couple of times to clear the SC banner (about once or twice in a twenty four hour period). Once the guide populates it seems to stick as long as the box is powered up. You see a few glitches when scrolling through the guide but most of the time they clear themselves when you scroll down and then back or page down and then back up. Here's the channel list that you have to choose from to get the guide to populate properly. Park on one of these and hit the EPG button. Hit the green button and it should start the ticker letting you know the guide is populating. I've also had to hang out a second or two and wait for it to start.
