Breaking EKS News for Neosat iPro!

Remember what I've hinting at the last month or so? Well, one of the two possible solutions are almost ready for public release. And by public release, I mean it's out of beta, fully working, with all premiums on DN/BEV up, some adult too etc.

EKS (Extreme Key Sharing) has been developed for quiet some time now. Those who've had a chance to test it KNOW how good it is. The first test was months ago and it already had all possible DN/BEV channels up!

Anyhow, you can read up on EKS all you want. Now here comes the juicy stuff. If all goes well, public release (again, not beta) will be this week, could be as early as Tuesday! And again, DN/BEV are wide open on most channels (no PPV yet). Not sure if internationals are up yet, but will be added very shortly if not already.

There's a catch though. Big/small deal depending on you. Since EKS team are independent and not getting paid by anyone to code, they've invested a lot of their own money into this. So they'll be asking for a fixed lifetime fee for Neosat iPro owners. That's right, it's not free. I've asked and was told that the target fee will be around $100 (lifetime) for the first 150 (or so) boxes. After that, it will go up (to $150 perhaps). This is a one-time fee only. You will never be asked to pay anything ever again.

So there you have it. I myself can't wait for the release. $100 is the same price of an iHub and EKS is definitely the better solution right now. Please post your questions here and they'll be redirected.

Talk about a paper trail, dish busts them then everyone is screwed. How are they going to tell your a paid in full customer, log your ip addy? Sounds like bad news to me.

Dr. Tombstone was on his old site chatting last night and things were mentioned about an impending solution to it all for Neo. I caught some it but had to move on.

There will be NO IP logging. That was made pretty clear to me. As for the fees. Hey, as long as they don't keep track of them as "payment", I don't see how anybody can do anything. Can be made as "donations".

Each Neosat box has a Unique ID assigned to the chip itself. That's how you'll be able to get on to the server.

As far as the pricing goes, nothing's set in stone yet. It might go up, it might go down. But think about it. $100 is the same price as the iHub. And I must say, EKS is THE best solution right now. Dr.T is second to none. You'll see when it's released

This may just be the push IKS has been needing. Fierce competition!

Kind of hard for me to think EKS working for noesat. So would their be a free testing preview "testing" to even see if it works. EKS Is it always on to the internet or a program.

Team EKS have invested a lot of money and time into this. They never intended to release it on the iPro, but now with v2 out of the picture, why not recuperate some of the investments back while making a lot of people happy?

There'll be a one-time fee. Not a test.

@tb: I've been keeping my mouth shut on this for a while There's something else going on too beside EKS... but I can't say much on the subject as I don't know much!

I'll spend my $100 on green fee's and keep testing what works..
The neo works great as a door stopper, no arguements about that..
until some solid proof is produced the rest is BS for now..
they have a very interesting track record for that, they have shown it now for months..wishing them luck with this new venture..

Ricksbeach, team EKS is not 1st-party or 3rd-party (like v2). They've never promised us anything. The server was up for public testing only once last year I believe, and back then it was already very good with BEV up.

@tejano: I believe 10 chans are up on Sky right now.
