Allot of people here always ask if they can get the SKY signal from 58w. I have made this sticky just for you.

58w has many transponders, and allot can cover the entire U.S.A.. but the ones made for SKY Mexico are very limited, which mainly cover the southern part of the US.

Here is a clear map of the complete Footprint from SKY Mexico, which only Covers Southern U.S.A, All of Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Cuba, Dominican, and Puerto Rico.


If you live outside of the coverage area, you will not be able to get any signal from the SKY transponders. Even if you get a huge C-BAND dish, you will out of luck (Sorry).

OK FOLKS, HERE IT IS!


My set up is dp lnb on 119, 110 and 61.5, and a dp34 switch and a universal lnb found in ebay
GT-SAT-Universal-Single-L-Shape-40mm-LNBF

This univ lnb must be set to 22khz to get sky tps. Also it is .2db so it has better gain then the .3 or .4 lnbs most are used to...

Connect the out put from the dp34 going to the 2k to the 0khz port of a 0/22khz switch (generic not a sw21). Make sure that the diseq settings for each dish sat is set correctly on your 2k and leave the 22khz setting as none. and set the lnb type to dplnb.
for sky connect the lnb to the 22khz port of the switch and then run the output of this 0/22khz switch to the 2k.
Make sure you set the sky lnb to 22khz in the 2k.

Presto you have dish and sky. You can do this for every output that goes to a 2k from a dp34 switch.

For those of you that use SKY and have freezing issues with channels such as Azteca 13, Azteca 7 and Estrellas -2h , well it seems that there is a fix.

On another post someone mentioned that changing the SAT name fixes these issues. After changing the SAT name from PAS9 to something like SKYMEX (you can try different names) I can confirm that it works. The annoying freezing goes away and although the image sometimes shows a very small jump this is something I can live with.

For those of you that do not know how to change the SAT name, here are the steps.

1. Press Menu on your remote control
2. Select Installation
3. Select Antenna Setup
4. Find PAS9 and press OK. At this point you should see the edit option (blue button) at the bottom of the screen.
5. Press the blue button and change the SAT name to any other name and give a try. You can also play with different names.
