what NEOsat to get? made simple.(ipro+/pro/ipro2k)

ok.this has been asked allot.its very simple really.so im making a small sticky that explains this.


1.all same basic unit.same basic hardware.same menu system etc.
2.all pvr.
3.all capable of iks in one way or another.
4.all use same file.
5.all units work as stand alone with files or iks.the choice is yours.(you do not have to use iks to enjoy this feature filled pvr system)
6.all have usb port for updating and also serial port,and use null modem cable.
7.only two options in production.(and these two share same hardware)
8. the PRO model and adapter only have basic iks support via 3rd party.advanced "HIKS" etc,for example do not work on the PRO model.

option one-the most popular:
neusat ipro plus=new model.Ethernet port.the new and improved iks ready unit.updated power supply and added heatsink.


option two:
neusat pro = new model.same as the ipro plus but with no Ethernet port.for folks who don't want iks, but still a great pvr system.this saves you money.updated power supply and added heatsink.you can buy an Ethernet adapter for iks (to put the I back in ipro)
many sites sell the neosat pro with internet adapter together.(this makes essentially an ipro plus if you will.just not as clean looking as if you had the Ethernet port built in thats all.the combo will be about the same price as ipro plus.but 3rd party support is not as good.)


discontinued.no longer an option: (unless used somewhere)
neosat ipro 2000 = last years model.discontinued.built in Ethernet port.iks ready.very very doubtful you will find one,except for used on ebay.still good.if you find one used, throw your own 10 buck heatsink on it from radio shack.easy and cheap as pie.thats if you even have heat problems.some did,some didn't. so they updated for us.they all use same file.so of course this unit will be fully supported as long as the other ones.
so though its discontinued,its not a bad thing!they simply improved this model for all new buyers thats all with the ipro plus and gave another option the pro.they didn't leave us out to dry.they simply improved/updated their product for new buyers.you have no need to upgrade to either if you currently have the ipro 2000.

Neusat Ipro 2000 info
As many of you may already know the name NEOsat is a trademark protected name

As such they have been issued with an order to STOP using the name NEOsat.

The decision was made to STOP production of any further NEOSAT products.

Any new ipro units purchased from now on will come branded as Neusat Ipro 2000 plus, any new product line will bear the Neusat name.

The Neosat ipro 2000 plus is not discontinued just under a new name.

All Ipro units now operating will continue with same great support, once again just new name.
