you may or may not have read the threads going right now, the neosat if you are running 3.33 is locked into that bin file. as far as i can tell it cant be removed by USB updating, I don't have a rs232 cable to test and see if you can load any other bin file like 137. or 3.31 over the file we are running now, you can put it back on if you can get it off.

But we need to know if this file can be loaded over. can someone test this. and try and load say 137 over bin 3.33 with a rs232 cable?

3.34 updated fine over 3.33 via network update for me. I didn't try with rs232 or USB.

yes 3.34 gives you cardless on d/n
will try to see if i can down grade to 3.33 via usb

Yea, I know that, but first 2 reports I got said 3.34 d/l failed. Just trying to see if anybody got it working

I just tried to downgrade to 10.1 on server 2 via network I DIDNT WORK. Seems to download ok and reboots but 3.34 is still loaded reciever info shows 1.1 and cardless is still working.
and the box locks up when the usb is installed.
as for the cable I'm going to have to read up on how to do it (it's been a long time since i did it)
will try when i get home (have to run out for a while)

My STB downloaded 3.34 via network and it installed with no problems. Have cardless working and version 1.1 showing on the receiver application info. I have not even tried to stick in the USB flash because D1 said that they were still working on that issue. I am not sure where I laft my rs232 cable but I guess I better find it in case I need it sometime soon.

usb doesn't work period with 3.33.so thats out the window.i tried renaming to file to just "up.hzf" too,and it still locks up.
so forget usb.

most claim if you have 3.33 currently, and you are hooked to the net,you just load and no probs right?

for those who only run cardless.you will NEED to load with your pc, using the loader/null modem cable.
just follow the instructions exactly as stated on the loader.its slow,but does the trick.

dunno if you need to.but factory default FIRST just for good measure.

3.33 right to 3.34
no factory file loading in between.

ok scratch that.

the stb did not read "good"
went to 100 and froze.
on/off and info screen reads v1.0
so i guess thats 3.33 still.

You can load by network if 3.33 is currently on top. USB and null both locked up the unit. 3.34 is running good, seems like a good fix. I always used a USB to Serial Cable if needed instead of a null cable and never had problems. It does not work here and I don't own a true null

yeah,well everyone can get to 3.33 anyway with the usb workaround posted right?
then you can just grab 3.34 from the server.
that's easy enough.

if you can't get hooked yp to the net.you can go to/from any file with null modem cable.

"pci serial port" for your pc.then you can connect proved cable directly with no usb adapter problems.like 15-20 bucks.(for desktops)

or if you have no com port,and no internet hookup.you will have to wait for usb fix to be posted.

yeah.
no probs at all for those with desktops and serial com port.
can get tricky with no com port or iks,that's all.so not to bad.

well its d1 groups second file for this stb,lol.so pretty dang good considering.
im sure they will have usb working soon enough.

I used usb memory stick to upload 1.37 turned off box removed stick, then once rebooting took place loaded 3.33 by usb stick turned off box to remove stick and let it reboot and finally last night uploaded 3.34 by network and let it reboot and box is working the best it has in weeks.

yeah.there ya go paver.that's pretty much the easiest way for those who have net connection.(and can't or don't want to use loader/serial cable)

Is the key not letting box reboot with USB stick in it to avoid lockup?

I think D1 designed it to load in consecutive order only. Anything below 3.33 other than the factory file will not load

That is probably correct. I had trouble loading 3.33 via network after research on the site someone said to load 1.37 and then i could only load 3.33 via usb stick since i do not have a RS 232 cable.
