I am new to FTA and need help finding HD channels

I have CS8100HDPVR with 3 dishes(echo110-119, echo148, nimiq91). I got this new fta receiver and have yet to see any hd. I want to get some good HD channels before Football season. Can anyone offer me any advice? What I want is PPV, HD PPV, Sports, PB and with the new DN Movie Channels(H BO, Starss).

What direction do I have to point the dishes to get the most bang for my buck? I have no diseqc ports left.

Does anyone have an idea of what satellites that I'm probably looking for?

Depending on your location 129 or 61.5. 61.5 is for the southern east coast. I have heard 82 is HD but I think it may have less channels that charlie.

You may point to 82w(hd channels for BEV).

61.5w is your best bet. More HD channels. The problem is that you will need another dish and depending on your location if you can get it.

Re: I am new to FTA and need help finding HD channels

If you are using a coolsat you can ONLY get HD channels by pointing your dish to 82w. The reason for this is that HD channels on bev use the QSPK standard. While DN uses the 8PSK standard. Coolsats are not able to use 8PSK because it requires the installation of an additional module and there isn't one for any HD Coolsat.

Long story short......82w is your only option.

82 W is the B3V HD bird. It has a strong singal and plenty of HD channels. I enjoy it with my cs8100
