2 Months+ No Satellite
Off and on for about 2 1/2 months I have been trying to get my CS8100hd working, I have been following all the threads and doing what is in them with no results, I have used dpp 500 with all the recommended parameters, I have used 1000.2 with all the recommended parameters, again no positive results, I get between 84 and 99% signal with 0% quality...consistently!! I've used the switch that came with my 8100hd, dp44 switch, internal switch with dpp 500, nothing. When i scan, I get 'no update', I've tried incrementally moving dish, still no quality whatsoever, help please, thanks in advance, S.

I happen to own a CS8100 and love it! I also own a cw600p and it goes up and down just as much as my cs8100. The files come out within hours of each other. What more can anyone ask for?

Re: 2 Months+ No Satellite
For my area Elev=38.0°, AZ=219.1°, Skew=120.3°, for 110, 119, and 129, I've tried without switch, with diseq 2.0, DPP 44; with DPP 500+ dish, 1000.2 dish, again, get between 84 and 99 on signal meter, no quality whatsoever, and no channels on scan.

Re: 2 Months+ No Satellite
Ok... sounds like you need to tweek the dish a bit. I don't think you are aligned 100%. You should get both quality and singal before you will get any channels to scan. In your setting for the dish are you setting the port to the right place? If 110 is on port 1 then it needs to be set to port one etc.

Re: 2 Months+ No Satellite
I set the parameters according to the diagram for each switch per the instructions, I have moved my dish to a totally unobstructed open field, I have used the little analog meter (hovers about 90-cant seem to get it past the 9), my next concern is troubleshooting my equipment starting from the dish to the receiver. I will try to tweak dish more tomorrow after work.

Ok let us know how you make out. When I did my alignment I got a Satellite finder kit which has a meter in it. Once your on a satellite itlets you fine tune until you get the strongest signal from the satellite your pointing to. This doe not tell you which satellite your on but definately will help get the strongest signal.
Good luck and let us know what you come up with

You maybe should have started a new thread for this. They don't like hijacking threads but I'll try to answer for you. Hit menu and the scroll over until you see USB Transfere. Watch closely and you should see it. Now with the unzipped file that has been renamed to _sw_code.sgn onto a flash drive, put the flash drive into the back of the stb right beside the HDMI cable connection. After you have done this scroll down to USB Transfer and start it. Follow the instructions and when asked say yes. Leave stb on and do not interupt and when it is finished the stb will reboot and the new file will be there.
keep in mind that you can only put in newer files this way. If you have to go back to an older file, the factory file or the clear file the null modem cable is the ONLY way.
Hope this helps

Re: 2 Months+ No Satellite
Ok, been outside with monitor, and 8100 for about 1 1/2 hours, continue to get 86-99 on signal meter (no quality whatsoever) with 3 different dishes and lnbs, 500, 1000.2, and d****tv slimline, is it time to consider that my box is bad and if so what recourse do I have as far as warranty (bought on ebay)?

Have you installed the new bin?
Have you ever tried with just a regular dish500?

Re: 2 Months+ No Satellite
Yes, dish 500-no external switch, 1000.2 and slimline with and without factory 8100 switch, dpp44, and zinwell 6x8, again, get high 80s to 99 on signal but absolutely 0 on quality...
