Re: usb to stb help please....
just a few posts below this one was neostrada from 11/16/08. he had the same problem, and it seems the solutions worked for him, but i've done everything and it keeps coming back 'file version is not correct. check file version.' i can't get the box to recognize the code, even though i've renamed it. i put on the end of the numbers _sw_code.sgn as the extension. is this correct or should i change the numbers and everything to _sw_code.sgn. thanks

The file name has to be _sw_code.sgn Do not put the numbers in the cose. Its should ONLY read _sw_code.sgn
Hope this helps.

Re: usb to stb help please....
basically, i have the 8100 for ppv's. my factory system with the 622 dvr and dish 1000 is excellent. i wanted to be able to get ppv's and thought it would be so easy since dish and everything is pointed. i have a functioning system, but for some reason even though the code is loaded, my 8100 is not recognizing satellites; and therefore i can't even do a channel search. thanks for any help.

no need to rename file any more that has been fixed for some time now. try a hard reboot then update, if that still wont work download file again and retry. if that does not work make sure you are unzipping the file properly.

I was not aware of this. I did not rename the latest fix and away it went. I also tried to go to an older file and it works with the USB which it never use to. You always had to use the null modem cable to go to older files. I am glad to see these new features with this unit!!
