Is there a CW800 Card Share server currently out there?
I noticed most all of the sites have the CSC card share program ot for CW and was wondering if there is a current site available to get this going?
Once I find a site how do I make my box share and does my computer have to be hooke up 24/7 or do I hook it up as needed.
Thanks for the help and advice.

All of the IKS type solutions require that you have a constant Internet Connection.

Thanks for the response. If I set up this card share file, is there a server that I have to go to or download from. I am not certain how this works. Card Sharing is definatley a new one on me.
Thanks

Those, I believe, are for the 3000 and 4000 units only.

Re: Is there a CW800 Card Share server currently out there?
ive tried this, there is no server to connect to as of yet. it was made for the 700, 800, ultima series. maybe 600 and 650. you would enable it w/ f1+555.
it is possible to create your own server though...there is a client program and a server program.

Re: Is there a CW800 Card Share server currently out there?
c/p from the server text...
This is a small guide on how to setup a windows based pc as a cardServer with NewCS
Aftre of a lot of search on the net for cs(cardsharing) i found a lot of info about this but only for linux based pc.
Nothing about cs and cardserver with a windows based pc.
this is a newbie guide to CARDSHARING with pc as a server
So here is how to setup a win based pc as a Cardserver
What You need:
Hardware
a) A pc capable of running Windows XP or Windows 2000 with
1 network card
1 serial port
(memory and disk its not importand????...for cardsharing)
A serial card reader
c) a dsl connection (if you want to share your cards with others)
Software
a) Newcs 1.13 (in the atached file)
NewcsGui (a gui interface for the NewCS server)
(a and b files are incuded in the atach. zip file)
c) An clean text editor (like ultraedit)
Unzip the files in a directory
Edit the configuration file newcs.xml
1. find the line <node>COM2</node>
and put your com port where the cardreader its connected to yout pc
2. in the line <udp_host>192.168.0.101</udp_host> put your pc ip address
3. in the <newcamdserver> section find the line <name>yourservername</name>
and put you cardserver name.
4. in user section put user name and pass
save the file
Now you are ready to run your server
Run the program newcsgui.exe and your server its ready
You can see any server activity in the file logfile.txt
Now your client can connect to the server using newcamd or mgcamd emu in port 10001 (default)
For wan connection you have to setup your router to forward all traffic in port 10001 to the pc's ip
Thats all you are UP and Running

Re: Is there a CW800 Card Share server currently out there?
the directions are for the 600 and the 600p. Their from back in 2006 when fta was down for about 3 months. you also needed somebody running a cardshare server or share a subbed card of your own.Somebody had a free server for it but it didn't work very well. The box had to stay connected to your computer with the null cable. The old files won't work with n3. But the coders could tweak them to work. Their are several ways this could be done for any fta box with the usb or rs232 port but in the end its
up to the coder for each box.

Re: Is there a CW800 Card Share server currently out there?
If CW is going to roll out an IKS type solution, best to wait for them to announce some kind of news. They are going to want to do something ... stand-alone files, may be a thing of the past as we know them - although time will tell for sure.

If I wanted to start a server to help the many of us out there, how do I get an open card to get one going. Is this something I would have to subscribe to and send out to everyone else to pick up form me? I am interested in researching such a hobby and wanted to look into it a bit more.
Thanks

Currently, there is/are no IKS type solutions for the lower model #'s in the CW product line, as I understand it.

thanks for the quick reply. is that because the CW receivers can't handle it? or is it that the CSC tool is out of date?
my guess is that the CSC tool is some form of newcs that can talk the newcamd protocol and communicate with an rqcs server....so what's missing?
