Re: N3 means Cw box goes in trash?
cw has had great support...
you have been recording lots of stuff w/ the pvr for something to watch when n3 finally hit (weve known it been coming for quite some time). i have hundreds of shows recorded.
if you still want to throw it in the trash you could give it to me instead

Re: N3 means Cw box goes in trash?
No. CW has had some great support and they use to have a trick up there sleeve a few years back ,and they may implement it again who knows. I have no proof or backing but give it say, 3 or 4 months before you give up on them.

Re: N3 means Cw box goes in trash?
"Hint by rumor". Folks are throwing it around that something similar
to 06 card share might happen again. Remember the 600's are
discontinued boxes and that might have a significance with new
N3 bins.

Re: N3 means Cw box goes in trash?
I agree that CW has had very good support these past couple of years. Everyone knew N3 was coming. It took 2-3 months when N2 hit to get things moving along. This will probably be similar in the time frame needed to find a solution to N3. N3 has been in Europe for awhile now and they still have no answers. Could this been the end? Who knows? Its been a great ride and I want to thank everyone who made this hobby work. Enjoy the summer weather and get some fresh air. If N3 is the worst thing that happens to you this year then you are having a great year. I bid you all a good evening.

I would wait a few months before throwing any receivers away. I am holding on to my Viewsat Ultra.

You can always get a 30+ dish and motor, and hit all the sat that are fta, that is what most of us hobbyist do.

Re: N3 means Cw box goes in trash?
CW is good for True FTA
Why throw it out?
Besides, it may be of use for your needs again in the near-future.

Let me get out my crystal ball, lets see now-- I see something moving, a little blurry. Oh wait, that's my fish bowl. Sorry I can't help on that one.

Re: N3 means Cw box goes in trash?
CW has good support, you can't overlook that. Will they come out with a fix for N3? No one can answer that one. If you want to give up already after 1-2 days, then the only thing I can say is you should never bought a box in the first place. You have had your box for about a year you say. Think of all you have saved on your cable bill, even if it is the end..... which I doubt it.... did you not save lots of money?
You just have to be patient and wait like everyone else my friend.

We all need to hold our breath for a while & see what happens.
The end is not here...just a delay.
Is this the end for CW...maybe for now...but not likely in the long run.
Likely a cardless solution will surface eventually...but for now it is going to be card sharing via ethernet like iHub / Dongle / kHub.
So for now, you might consider a SonicView / CNX / kBox.
Or like the suggestion above, get a motor & scan the sky for other free birds buddy.
TIP: For folks with high speed try hulu.com for TV on your PC.

Re: N3 means Cw box goes in trash?
Hang on to it Buddy. Coders are working hard right now. They say they are making headway. It may be put back to good use later with a stand alone bin. Give them some time, I believe Nag 3 will be broke...

Re: N3 means Cw box goes in trash?
no i am not ready to just give up i worked pretty hard to get the cw set up with dish500 now i am interested in getting a 30 inch dish and motor do you have any recommedation for what combo to buy to get true fta. Is there any way to get some fta on dish500 satellite currently?
Do FTA channels have closed captioning or some kind of captioning? I am deaf so i cant hear the voices but i enjoy watching shows with captioning its more clearer too.
