A whole day looking for 123W
Hi, got my 36" dish and linear lnb yesterday. Been looking for 123W and no luck. How far is it from the 110/119 setting? Could hardly take the heat up on the roof anymore. I'm in Waxhaw NC 28173, any inputs is deeply appreciated.

Re: A whole day looking for 123W
once you have that you are going to first make sure you have the proper skew it is very important the skew is 43.9 so you will have to stand infront of the dish and turn the lnb in the holder to left .. then once you do that you are going to change your settings to this for 123w
satellite 18r 123w
lnb type single
lnb freq 10750
22khz - off
transponder -11800
earch option - all
networks -on
port same as before if no switch leave
motor-off
legacy -off
now you are going to slowly go down and to the right (if from behind ) it is not far at all so becare full you will be in there very close and then you should get it mark your dish when you reach 121 so you have sa good reference point to stay in the same area good luck

Thank you all very much, I've already printed this out and ready to go back up when the heat dies down a little.

You dug up an oldie. The true FTA channels on 123W were from RTN/Equity who have gone bankrupt, and their channels have been disappearing. Your DN500 w/dual, circular LNB is not capable of receiving the true FTA channels. To get into this sector of satellite reception, you will need a large dish(30-36") with a linear LNBF.

Re: A whole day looking for 123W
Programming content? I rarely watch TV so I can only guess. The stuff looks like network junk.
