Hint: if you hit f1 at the bottom left of the remote you can FF or RW a set amount.

I was having the same situation. I figured out that I had to turn off the sleep/standby mode on my HD and then recording from the EPG worked fine. It sounds like you have a solution that works for you.

it is a 33switch in side the hd dish. find the 61.5 in port 3 so you can get the 72 and 77 but it will not work ! new code will stop it
