recording issue fixed
Just loaded bin 1.83 and for the first time since bin 1.67 I am able to set the timer and record channels that I'm not watching. Even set it up for multiple recordings and all channels were recorded. I knew this was a file issue and the coders would fix this. GREAT JOB CW CODERS.

Re: recording issue fixed
My WD HD works great with some bins and really bad with others. It varies from bin to bin with my HD.

Re: recording issue fixed
My WD hard drive worked great for 4 to 5 months, but bins 1.67 to 1.82 didn't work good at all. Bin 1.83 works really well but I'm curious how it will work with the next bin.If there's a hard drive that works better with this unit I would like to purchase one. Thanks

The WD "My Book" works really well with the older 800's.Any problems such as the recording issue's as of late, are attributed to the file and a new drive wont help.
Note that the "My Book" has known issues with the newer 2nd generation 800's and Seagate is currently the drive of choice for the new box's.
Good luck,

Re: recording issue fixed
I always thought when I was recording movies that the small freezing and the pixelating was in the bin. Thanks to the people at abadss I found out that there's recording problems with the "my book" western digital hard drive. Went out today and purchased a simpletech 320gb ext. hard drive and it works great. Thanks again Spoiler and abadss!

Re: recording issue fixed
As far as the CW 800 goes, with the current bin, recording has been great. A recorded show has the same pic quality as if you were watching the show. My problem with some prior bins is that my WD 250 HD doesn't stay active. It will say USB REMOVE at any time. There are times when I am watching a recorded program and the HD will remove itself. Now with this bin, everything is fine on the recording side of things. There really is no telling what the next bin will bring. I also have a flash drive that I use and with some bins that even has problems staying active. A bin like the current confirms to me that it isn't the type of HD (although some may work better) but the bin that causes the USB REMOVE. Overall, the CW800 works well and is a bargin for the money. When the recording function is working like it is now, the 800 is tops.

Re: recording issue fixed
I have 500G Iomega, it was working great for 2 months. With 1.83, the unit stop recording. I cannot mannually recording or setup with Timer.
When I tried to record manually, the picture gone dark and it will record the the blank picture.
Please advise,
