legal or illegal
I was going thru the web and I find that many people say that FTA is illegal. They say getting international channels is also illegal except TRUE FTA (Arab TV etc). What is the deal with this. Hope ABADSS can help me out.
Thanks

Re: legal or illegal
FTA stands for Free To Air. There exists many satellites located in the Clarke Belt that provide free television and audio stations, if you have the equipment to pick them up. FTA receivers are the answer. FTA in itself is not illegal, however, decrypting encoded signals is illegal and is punishable with fines and possible jail time. These non-FTA channels include Dish Network, Direct TV and others around the world.

Re: legal or illegal
What are the bin files for? Are they used for decrypting encoders. Also International channels like Indian channels are provided by Dish Network and directTV. also all the PPV channels etc.

Re: legal or illegal
Using an FTA unit in the way in which it was designed is 100% legal.

Re: legal or illegal
a good setup for FTA is an FTA receiver, 36" dish with a combo linear/circular LNB mounted on top of a motor.
you'll pickup all the FTA in the sky with that.
check our sponsors for the above mentioned FTA equipment

if you are viewing encrypted channels without paying for them, then it is illegal....most receivers have a dollar sign "$" in the channel bar to signify an encrypted station.....
if you are viewing an unencrypted or "clear" channel, then that is legal.....
