Yes, your second DN500 can receive 61.5W for the Indian channels. Aiming can be tricky, but try to find 61.5W using the right LNB (looking from the back of the dish) if you are in North America. The right-side LNB yoke may be marked 110W.

I am using 148 and things work quite well for me, for the satellite direction / dish pointing calculation, go to this site and place your desire location.

Re: Need help getting international channels like b4u, zee tv and setanta sports

Well I gave another try with my new dish. But it didnt work. atleast I am a step ahead.
Heres the setting I got for satelite 61.5

Elevation: 16.5°
Azimuth (true): 110.3°
Azimuth (magn.): 96.2°
LNB skew: -48.6°

How do I set a -48.6 for the skew? the scew range is from 30 to 140 or something.

Heres another question. I thought before I try connecting the two dishes together with a diseqc switch, maybe I should try getting it to work with my dish pointing at 119. When I connected the diseqc switch to my first dish, I cannot get any signals at all. I tried all the ports but none seemed to work. I did some reading and found out that with dish 500 dual lnb we cannot use a diseqc switch. So how do I connect my two dishes together? I am pretty close.

Re: Need help getting international channels like b4u, zee tv and setanta sports

Coolsat is good receiver ...it can talk to you.go to Antena setup and sellect 61.5 ( echo 3KU) Lnb type dishpro or standard which ever you have , Lnb freq. 11250, for first time connect it direct to the receiver, TP. ( transponder) make it to be 12603 and all other as it is then pointing starts. your dish should be aprox. 90 Dig. horizantely east side from 110and 119 ...or I can say dish should point south east. when you get signal you will see on your tv screen your receiver will read " Found echo 3KU and that's it tight it there and auto scan it.
Hope this makes it easy... I have read this thread and will say you should thank " Dish Charli" for good help and guide.

thanks all for the help. I really appreciate it. I want to know if I need to adjust the skew with Dish500. some websites say that I dont need to worry about the skew on dish500.

Iam finally able to get 148. Actually pointing the satelite wasnt hard at all. thanks guys for all your help. I have learnt a lot in the process. However my coolsat 6000 started freezing. I guess I'll have to wait for the new bin.

Re: Need help getting international channels like b4u, zee tv and setanta sports

Glad to hear you are up and running. Now that you have done it once, it will be so much easier next time. I can usually find 61.5W or 148W with an 18" dish in less than a minute.

DishCharlie,
I guess coolsat 6000 is out of support or is about to loose support. What receiver do you suggest? I am planning to get another one. Is coolsat 6100 any good?

Re: Need help getting international channels like b4u, zee tv and setanta sports

I did not want to mention that as we were working the dish issue, but it is a known problem. I have both the CS6100 and SV4000. Both have design and performance features that stand out, but for most people in this hobby, the important thing is to be able to watch reliable TV. When reception goes down Team Sonicview/Viewsat has consistently been first to offer fixes. Support for even the newer Coolsats have slowed down. IKS Internet connection receivers are down less often, but it leave electronic trails to your doorstep no matter who claims they do not. If I were looking for another receiver to work with, it would be an SV360 as the product marketing life of the SV4000 is nearing its end. Keep in mind when blackouts occur, not all receivers are affected in the same way. Diversifying with different manufacturer's receivers will help make viewing more dependable.
