Re: Need help getting international channels like b4u, zee tv and setanta sports

Indian channels are on 61.5W, 118.75W and 148W. The sat at 118.75W AnikF3 will require a special dual-band LNB and larger than usual dish. What dish/LNB do you have?

Appreciate your response. I have Dish 500 (21"x 23") with TWIN LNBF. I am totally new to this and not sure how to get those channels. Is there any way I can get those channels with my dish? what satelite do I use and with what settings?

Re: Need help getting international channels like b4u, zee tv and setanta sports

I still cannot get any Indian channels. I did a auto scan and blind scan on my coolsat 6000 but they dont seem to pick up the channels. I scanned 119, 118 110 satelites but with no luck. Maybe my settings are not correct. Would appreciate any help. I need to know what satelite I could scan with my dish with what settings.

tomcat, appreciate your reply. What do you mean replace 119 lnb? do you mean that I need to buy a universal lnb? will the universal lnb work with my dish?

Re: Need help getting international channels like b4u, zee tv and setanta sports

almost all lnbs will work but you could have to change some settings ..

lnb type - single
lnb freq - 10750
22khz - off
lnb power - on
transponder - 11715
search option - all
network search - on
disqec - port what ever matches your switch lnb 1 to port1 etc...
motor -off
legacy switch -off

if you have the lnb type universal 10750 it can be used too

A Dish500 is capable of receiving the sats at 61.5W or 148W for the Indian channels. As previously stated, the sat at 118.75W will require a larger dish and a special dual-band, circular polarity LNB such as the CB2008a(eBy). We can help you with the settings once you have the right equipment.

Re: Need help getting international channels like b4u, zee tv and setanta sports

Dishcharlie is correct. If you do not want to add the new LNB, then repoint your existing dish to 61.5 or 148. Of course you will loose 110 and 119 if you do that. And setanta is on 110.

Ideally you want to get the LNB that dishcharlie refered to, which will get you both 119 and Anik F3 and use one of your existing LNBs to get 110. That will get you CH 406 and the international channels you are looking for.

Re: Need help getting international channels like b4u, zee tv and setanta sports

I appreciate all the help. I have even learnt a lot by just working on this.

Currently my dish is hooked up to a dual digital lnbf. I looked and it doesnt show any frequency. But it has two ports (119 W & 110 W) as shown in the picture. Can I get those channels on any of these? Can you give me a url of a lnb that will work with my dish.

I have a single lbn with the following specification: LNB BSS 12.2 12.7Ghz 950-1450Mhz TCE stock #232594 214-5100-700

Re: Need help getting international channels like b4u, zee tv and setanta sports

Acutally this is the exact picture.

and if you scroll to the bottom of this page:
DISH Pro LNBs - DP - Super Dish - DishPro Plus DPP

it gives some specification. I'd appreciate if you can look and tell me which port will work. currently I have only 1 cable which connects to the left most port. Its says 119 on that port. I wonder if I should use another cable and connect to the right most port. Appreciate any help

Re: Need help getting international channels like b4u, zee tv and setanta sports

That is a BSS DishProPlus Twin and cannot receive FSS signals from 118.75W AnikF3 for the Indian channels. It can receive Indian channels on sats at 61.5W or 148W. Since the LNBs are spaced 9-degrees apart, one of the Twin will be idle when you aim it to either of those sats.

As the Dish500 is too small to receive most of the AnikF3 transponders, you can leave it pointed to 110-119, and get a 30" dish with a CB2008a LNB for the Indian channels, or find a small dish and point it to 61.5W or 148W using the single BSS LNB.

Thumbs up Re: Need help getting international channels like b4u, zee tv and setanta sports

That a whole bunch of gr8 info to set the things right ..wonderful..
just to expand on that ideally it will helpful if you put that extra dish and point that to 61.5W with standard lnb as indicated by tomcat01 in his response -put the relevent settings n way to go..

C?P;;from Tomcat01 - response..
almost all lnbs will work but you could have to change some settings ..

lnb type - single
lnb freq - 10750

if you have the lnb type universal 10750 it can be used too

Re: Need help getting international channels like b4u, zee tv and setanta sports

That dish is a DTV Slimline with 5 KaKu LNBs with integrated switch. The DTV Ka band is 18.3-18.8GHz and DN does not use that yet. The 110 and 119 LNBs on that dish (2 on the side) will receive DN, but not all the transponders. I'm sorry to say the LNB Assembly is not what you need. The dish plate can be used for the dual-band LNB you need for 118.75W with some creative adaptations.

Re: Need help getting international channels like b4u, zee tv and setanta sports

I was able to buy another dish-500 dish with a dual lnbf. Very similar to the one I already have at 119. I will work on pointing the dish to 61.5 to get the indian channels. My question is:

will I be able to get the indian channels with the dual lnbf that it currently has?

How do I point to 61.5?
