CNX V-1 Setup Guide

CNX V-1 Setup Guide for satellite setup, scanning and USB saving.
Attached PDF with screen shots of each step...

There are 2 methods of setting up sats and scanning for channels
Note: You may first want to turn off parental control, other wise you may be nagged for access code 0000 when navigating the menu. To do so, press Menu; go to Options, OK; go to Parental Lock Setup, OK; press pin code 0000; turn Off Parental controls; Exit…
Method 1 - setting up 4 Diseqc Ports:
Menu; Installations; OK
Antenna Type Select; OK
Select from:Normal, DiSEqC Switch, DiSEqC 1.2 or Usuals
For most users, selecting DiSEqC Switch will do just fine; then OK on that, and then.. the following screen will pop up.
It has quick 2 step setups for 4 DiSEqC settings with 2 settings for each, the top one is to select the sat, which may be L/R scrolled to, or if you press OK, it brings up all available satellites to choose from Use the RCU’s UP/Down scroll buttons to select the one you want... do so and press OK... then down arrow to the lower selection for that DiSEqC # and select your LNB type... Use the RCU L/R buttons to select or press OK and use the RCU UP/Down buttons to select from 15 different LNB settings:
I’ve added a comment to each frequency as to what that frequency often applies to.
• DishPro 11250/14350 - for DP Dual and DP Twin LNB's
• DishPro 10750/14350 - for DP FSS Linear LNB's, ie: SuperDish 105/121
• Universal 1 - for Ku Band
• Universal 2 - for Ku Band
• 5150/10750 (22K) – C-Band and KU-Band Linear LNBF
• 5150/11300 (22K) – C Band and KU-Band Linear LNBF
• 5150/5750 – C Band LNBF
• 5150 – C Band LNBF
• 5750 – C Band LNBF
• 9750 - Universal LNBF
• 10000 - Marconi switching LNB or Old standard "FSS" LNB 10.0 GHz L.O
• 10750 - for most Standard Ku and Linear FSS LNB”s
• 11250 - standard or Legacy circular DSS LNB's
• 11300 - Foxtel/Austar/Aurora installations
• ***** - for entering your custom frequency, ie: 11000 for a "Telecom" LNBF
The Side Bar will light up if there are channels on TP 1, (use the L/R RCU buttons to change TP’s, in search of Signal) and the upper right corner will show the Sat that you have selected with those settings. Change the settings, and the sat ID changes...
Once you have selected the 2 options for however many LNB's you have connected to a Diseqc/DP34/DP44+ switch, then select the Search bar and press OK. That's the fastest way... to set up and scan. For DP LNB’s, the CNX V1 will scan correctly, with no duplicate channels, automatically, only on Vertical TP's, if set up properly.
Sample settings:
4 sat setup to one Diseqc switch, with 3 different LNB settings.
2 DP Duals or a DP Twin for 119 and 110
1 FSS Linear LNB for 105
1 Legacy LNB for 91
Pressing OK on search will then search all 4 sats in one shot…
It’s very fast to search too…
Method 2: - provides more options for more satellites
Menu; Installations; OK
Antenna Type Select; OK
Select Normal, then OK
Or take a short cut:
Menu; Installations; OK
Select Channel Search, then press OK on the RCU
To select a Satellite, press the L/R RCU buttons to select a satellite or press OK for a selection menu.
Select the sat and press OK
Next select the Diseqc setup:
Select your Diseqc number, 1; 2; 3; 4 or none
Skip the frequency selections, unless you need to have a signal on a TP other than TP 1 and you know which frequency it will be on. L/R arrow changes the TP’s too
Select LNB type by pressing using the RCU L/R buttons and then, once on the correct satellite, pressing OK
or… for a menu, press OK and select from 15 choices
There may be many LNB setup choices, so I’ve outlined what they are usually used for, as follows:
I’ve added a comment beside the frequency as to which LNB use that frequency often applies.
• DishPro 11250/14350 - for DP Dual and DP Twin LNB's
• DishPro 10750/14350 - for DP FSS Linear LNB's, ie: SuperDish 105/121
• Universal 1 - for Ku Band
• Universal 2 - for Ku Band
• 5150/10750 (22K) – C-Band and KU-Band Linear LNBF
• 5150/11300 (22K) – C Band and KU-Band Linear LNBF
• 5150/5750 – C Band LNBF
• 5150 – C Band LNBF
• 5750 – C Band LNBF
• 9750 - Universal LNBF
• 10000 - Marconi switching LNB or Old standard "FSS" LNB 10.0 GHz L.O
• 10750 - for most Standard Ku and Linear FSS LNB”s
• 11250 - standard or Legacy circular DSS LNB's

• ***** - for entering your custom frequency, ie: 11000 for a "Telecom" LNBF
The Side Bar will light up if there are channels on TP 1, and the upper right corner will show the Sat that you have selected with those settings. Change the settings, and the sat ID changes... Saves on the guess work as to what’s at the other end of the cable…
Select 22KHz Tone settings by pressing OK for menu selection: None, 0 KHz or 22KHz
Select MultiDish Switch (Legacy Switch) if using one. Use the RCU’s L/R buttons or press OK for a selection Menu – there are 12 SWxx settings plus 1 setting for none.
Select your Scanning method, again L/R to select or OK for a selection menu, then choose from 5 choices: One TP; Network; Auto Scan; satellites; All channels; FTA Channels... I use all sats...
Again lots of choices in setup, but the setup can go very fast... and the sat is identified when all settings are correct… Look in the top right corner of the menu screen.
Once done with that sat, you may select another and another, then when you exit to picture, the settings will save, first with a confirmation and later again... just before you get to picture.
For those who’ve never done it, the next step is to save your scanned channels and sat settings to the USB flask memory stick or USB 2.0 Hard Drive… Later, with a few RCU keys, you can re-load your settings and scanned channels, or export them to another STB or program… without disconnecting or reconnecting any cables…
To save Channels to USB
Press Menu, select Utility, press OK, select USB, press OK
Press the Mode button to cycle thru USB loading/saving options
It’s the RED Audio RCU button
It will cycle between the following selections:
S/W Upgrade – loads a 1539KB bin from USB
BootLoader + S/W Upgrade - loads a bootloader as well as a 1539KB bin from USB
Channel Data Upgrade – Loads channel data and sat settings from USB
STB => USB : Firmware – Backs up, or “clones”, bin to USB
STB => USB : Channel Data – Backs up or “clones” channels and sat settings to USB
Select STB => USB : Channel Data and press OK… then select STB => USB : Firmware and press OK to back up the current bin that’s on the machine.
Take it elsewhere and load onto another CNX V1… instant clone, without a computer and without cables… s-w-e-e-t!!
