Anything new about cnx mini ?
Did I miss the new bin for CNX Mini ? It's been over 3 weeks now.... Heard that there might be an adaptor/device or something that I need to buy. What is is exactly? Thanks.

Re: Anything news for cnx mini ?
I sure hope they don't come out with anything new. I've had my dongle in my hand for over a week and still can't get it up. lol
I guess I shouldn't be raggin on these guys.

Re: Anything news for cnx mini ?
Thanks so much everyone for your reply! I'm relieved to know that we're all in the same boat. Does anyone know if this long wait for the new bin is related to the fact that the government has changed the old TV antenna system to digital? P.S. : Glad to learn a new word : "Dongle."

Re: Anything news for cnx mini ?
No I seriously doubt that...this has been in the works for some time now...it would've been done regardless of what the government did with the digital signal.

Re: Anything news for cnx mini ?
There is a hack to some of the CNX models to make them capable of using the dongle and files. I will find it and post.

Re: Anything news for cnx mini ?
Don't have to worry about modding anything just yet like the above link details. A dongle will come out for the mini. As with everyone else promising a solution...the dongle falls in that much loved "1 to 2 weeks" range, which like everyone else was ummm...2 months ago. Just hang tight.

CONAXSAT IX-200 DONGLE for Mini Duo Trio Nano iHub
OK...I heard today that the new Dongle for the CNX Trio & Duo is onsale at eBay.
However I don't think supporting bin files have been released for them yet.
They will be different that the Nano file, so don't try to use the wrong one...it won't work.

Re: Anything news for cnx mini ?
The dongle for the nano will be the same for the mini, the one that differs from it will be for the duo and trio. Its already been released, just not supported like SJ said.

That's true...
The first CNX Dongle IX-100 was for the new Nano (which replaces the Mini, now out of production) which had a 5-volt power supply built in for the Dongle.
The other models lacked the 5 volt power supply.
The newly released Dongle IX-200 is for the models the lacked the power supply.
I know it says it is for the Nano as well, but I'm not clear yet if it will work in place of, or replace the IX-100. (might just be a typo)
The Mini / Duo / Trio are all out of production...maybe even the Nano now, with the new release of the Nano2.

I see statements like this occasionally...but according to their site there is no nano2 and everything but the V1 is still in production. I understand that ppl have purchased the nano2, but we've all heard of clones.

I hear what your saying...but maybe the home site is the last thing to get updated. (CoolSat was that way)
The CNX Nano did replace the Mini...so it stands to reason that the Nano2 might replace the Nano.
But what a short run...it does seem strange.
Things are moving quickly right now with everybody racing to beat the rest with a solution for market reasons. ($$$)
The release site where we get our 3rd party files from, has posted supporting files for the Nano2 with no mention of clones.
eBay is loaded with Nano2 sales and I can see that people have been buying them for about 10 days now.
If sellers on eBay are selling clones, they won't last long...so I doubt it.

Re: Anything news for cnx mini ?
I know the nano replaced the mini, but after this length of time it is strange that they would have still neglected to update their site. But I never seen any validity to the claim the claim that the duo and trio have been discontinued. That would make no sense since they are by far better units, each in their own ways.

Here is some copied posts from the CNX release site and this info was originally posted on an FTA sales Internet site, the rest are comments pertaining to the Nano2. >>>
duo and trio discontinued?
DISCONTINUED *** Conaxsat Duo PVR FTA Satellite Receiver
It's finally here, the Conaxsat Duo offers incredible performance at an incredible price. This box is a PVR right out of the box, all you need to do is add a USB hard drive and you are ready to go.
and
DISCONTINUED *** Conaxsat Trio Free-to-Air Satellite Receiver
Its Finally here! Some of the new features include 3 USB ports, True PVR Timeshifting, Music Juke Box, Digital Photo Album, Divx Support (1080i picture quality), Dual Processors + 64MB Ram).
discontinued means they are not manufacturing them anymore..they should still be supported depending on N3 breakthrough if any.
trio and mini have been discountinued for some time now, and i think the duo is on the way out aswell if not already done. Support will continually be available for the boxes you just wont be able to buy them from your local store anymore.
in brief, when you hear of an STB being discontinued, 99% of the time it doesn't necessarily mean support dies along with it.
Usually when one box is discontinued, another takes its place. I am anxious to see if Team Conaxsat is coming out with new boxes to replace the discontinued ones. Hopefully ethernet ports built in. Conaxsat makes quite excellent equipment and has outstanding record of support. Looking forward to see what they bring out. IPTV? Lot of great possibilities when your STB has ethernet built in. IP-PVR? Display video from your computer hard drive? Save movies right to same hard drive. Way sweet!

Yes, the CNX Mini has been discontinued. (no longer in production)
It was replaced by the CNX Nano. (which is now available with iHub built in-Nano2) currently the only solution available for CNX.
We are still waiting for a standalone solution for N3...keep waiting for now.
