Funny...that don't sound so positive to me...
Sorry you gave up, while the rest of us enjoy TV.

As a tester, when folks say "it's down again", I don't listen to them.
I don't give up & say "Oh well" I wasted my time & money again...like a dummie.
No, I jump in there & try to resolve it & show other testers how I did it.
You must realize there will be bumps in the road as most iks based solutions are still in the beta phase of testing.
Yesterday was a prime example.
It went down (for me) at 6PM EST.
I read threads all over the Internet about all kinds of BS...
Bottom line, it was only a matter of rebooting everything in the system & what do you know...TV again!
How can you have any fun testing if you give up & quit???
However, if your not a tester, maybe it is best to just sit on the sidelines & wait for the easy handouts, as in the past...and a stand alone solution will be here eventually.
Some folks are just better off paying for a sub & forget about it...
I don't care if your discouraged...
But I care when you come on here & attempt to discourage others.

Re: cnx mini dongle
Well said SJ. I agree with you 110%. I've had my mini dongle for about 2 months now and there was a time that it wasn't picking up the dongle file. I rebooted everything and nothing happened. I reinstalled back everything and nothing would happen. The dongle would not recognize the file for some reason. Well CNX released a new dongle file and upgrade file. I installed it and what do you know the dongle finally recognize the file. I was up and running in no time. People I guess forget that fta is not only free TV but it is also for testing purposes. I love to test things out until they work. I guess people forget that in no way or form does the providers give free TV. That's way when new devices come out we are the beta testers. Whats going to happen when fta becomes obsolete and no coders will beable to crack anthing. I guess people want everthing easy with no problems but life isn't fair sometimes. So thats why we are here to help out and be the testers.

Re: cnx mini dongle
i think you-all have forgotten just what F.T.A means
F is for free---T is through---A is air.
i have never had a problem using a device that will receive
whatever it is through the AIR.
i dont think hooking something up to a pc or i.s.p is under the
purview of (free to air).
your ISP can be traced, thats a known fact,if they really want to.
its hard to prosecute anyone when you only get something from
free air, so all you dummy (testers)have a ball
by the way i was not the first one here to use the word -----i think
i think it was spelled dummie-------hmmmmm one wonders

I know what FTA means.
We are not talking about FTA...we were talking about IKS.
And if you want to lecture us about the morality, or safety of using IKS, then why did you buy one?
A VPN Router will keep you safe & is recommened for testers.
You never did say why you returned your dongle. (which works fine now)
You opened this thread with an axe to grind...and that's ok with me...but don't start getting personal.
Please refrain from attempting to discourage other members due to your misfortune.
