I have a 500GB HD put into an enclosure. The hard drive is a seagate barracuda, into a "frisby" enclosure. I can record fine, but if I leave a few timers on, it seems to no longer recognize the hard drive after a while and I need to turn the hard drive off and on a couple of times for it to "reconnect". I also get a black rectangular square where it would normally say checking USB.

Because this is not an external bought drive I don't think that it is just going into sleep mode, but it may be, I'm just not sure how that would work without any instructions.

Any ideas?
