Re: GOOD signal but no Quality
although the signal and quality do seem to fade after some time depending on the length of the hardboot, is there a patch or fix for this and is it normal......

Re: GOOD signal but no Quality
It might be a 'feature' of the file you are using, it may be fixed with the next release, only time will tell for sure.

No it is not normal operation. I doubt it is file related unless you do not have the latest patch. My was working fine last night and this morning so unless there is a new problem that just started recently I doubt it is the file.
More than likely since this a new setup, there is something wrong with the setup or you do not have the right files loaded. Please list the files and patches you have loaded and your LNB and switch types if any. Also tell us the setup in the box you are using.

Re: GOOD signal but no Quality
RagingBull, I'm one sat. The TP setting is 12224. The LNB is set at 11250. The box works fine but only for minutes. It is a new set up but it just will not hold the signal.....your help would greatly be appreciated. thanks

I will need to know exactly what DN LNB you have since there are more than 1 type and the setup is different depending on what type you have. The settings you have listed look correct but I need to know the type of LNB exactly, whether you have an external switch installed and the rest of your installation settings.

IF it is a Legacy twin it will be one LNB with two eyes. If it is a DP twin it will look the same but there will be a big DP printed on the LNB. If it has no DP printed on the LNB then it is the Legacy and I just need you to post the rest of your settings especially the switch settings so I can check them.
If there are two LNBs and there is an external SW21 then they are Legacy Dual LNBs.

Ok. As long as there was not a DP printed on the LNB and the LNB has 2 eyes, then that is a Legacy Twin as you suspected. Do you have any external switches installed and if so what type and please list the remainder of your settings in the installation menu.

Ok, Your settings are incorrect for a Legacy twin. Put Diseqc =none Legacy do not use diseq.
Turn 22khz to OFF
Put Multiswitch to SW42 dish 2 ( If you tune later for 119 you can set that one to SW42 dish 1)
Set Renumbering to BEV (this is used if you receive both DN and bev and renumbers the other satellite to higher channel numbers.
Set Auto TP =ON (IF DN changes the TP of your favorite channel your box will automatically tune to it. They do this all the time for channel 455)
The rest of your settings look fine. It would not hurt to do a factory default first just to make sure you are clearing out any junk. Then set to the settings I gave you rescan sats and all should be fine.
One other thing since you are on DN set set DN/BEV to 7days/3Days. That will give you a 7 day EPG for Dn instead of Bev.

i think he's describing a standard legacy dual lnb here not a twin.
could be wrong, but the words " "Y" with 1 lnb on the left side" would indicate this to me.i take it the other side is simply empty.which he should install another legacy dual into btw.
and stated in post #18
"i have no switches, running directly from satelite dish. here are the settings.....

diseqc and 22khz should be turned off.
