Hello, I'm a newbee...I got some ?'s
Hello all...I recently purchased my first FTA receiver, a CNX mini.
-Is this a good receiver or should I get something else?
-I am curious about tuning in other sats and how to.
-Can I use the stack of dishes I already own to access multiple sat signals with the DISEqC I have?
-Which sats have the most channels line ups?
-& finally how do I know which LMB I have for the setting in the DISEqC menu?
sry...i warned you I'm a newbee...

Re: Hello, I'm a newbee...I got some ?'s
i dont own a cnx,,but ive only heard good things about them,u can run as many dishes as u want,,, u will require at least 1 disecq switch to bring in 4 different signals,,,ur best bet right now,,is to beam in 110 and 119 satellites,,make sure u go to the cnx section here,,get a loader, boot file, and latest bin,,depending on ur dish or dishes,, tune 1 dish to 110,,label it port 1,,then locate 119 and label it port 2,,,hook ur cable to disecq switch,,putting 110 into port 1,,and 119 into port 2,,then in ur boxes antenna settings,,set ur disecq switch to the same,,,thats the basics,,u will get better how to in the file and help section for ur box

-Is this a good receiver or should I get something else? yes it is a very good receiver
-I am curious about tuning in other sats and how to. just point a dish and put in antenna settings
-Can I use the stack of dishes I already own to access multiple sat signals with the Diseqc I have? sort of a loaded question since we don't know what kind you have but i would venture to say yes
-Which sats have the most channels line ups? right now the options are limited to dn and true free to air
-& finally how do I know which LMB I have for the setting in the Diseqc menu? depends on what is printed on the lnb itself i will post a link for you to look at with some examples

Re: Hello, I'm a newbee...I got some ?'s
The mini has one of the best GUI's in the FTA world.
Quality wise ... well its made in China, so there are one or two areas where I personally feel they could have spent a few extra bucks. As a first receiver, it will do what you need, and if you elect to upgrade to something else, I can guarantee you'll miss the interface

Re: Hello, I'm a newbee...I got some ?'s
CNX is one of my favorite boxes, you should stick with the american satellites, and you would have to tell us what kind of dishes they are and what diseqc switch you have.

Re: Hello, I'm a newbee...I got some ?'s
I have a Chieta GIT-2041 DISEqC switch and was using a dual LMB DN dish and have successfully tuned it to echo 119W / 11250. What is the 2nd number 11250? Is that the LMB identification? I also have an old RCA single eye dual LMB that I am trying to tune through port 2 on my DISEqC. but dont know which DTV sat to tune to and what the 2nd number is to input there.

Re: Hello, I'm a newbee...I got some ?'s
yes the transponder number...how do you know what to input?
I read in one thread that you could with a certain type of dish.
Which type of dish should I get and which sat is a good place to start for me then? Is it possible to tune in other sats using the DN dishes?

Re: Hello, I'm a newbee...I got some ?'s
The 119 is working on 11250 with Echo7 119W.
The only 110 sat I can see in the pull down menu is Echo8/10 110W.

Re: Hello, I'm a newbee...I got some ?'s
the 11250 is the lnb frequency
it is the same on both echo 7 119w and echo 6,8 110w
only need to change tp frequecy to see signal difference
