NEW CNX MINI just got home!!! help though.

hi! i used to have Direct TV and i kept the old satalite.

i hooked up my CNX midi to the already set cables in the house.

did everthing and got some channels . missing alot thoguht.

using CNX box with the old Direct tv stuff.

so durring channnel search i got 119 and the 22tone thing is set to ON.

is there a way to get more channels? when i had dirrect tv i had international channles... now they are all gone.

what kind of dtv dish ya got there?
you managed to scan some channels in,so i take it you repointed the dish already? if so what bird did you point it at?
did you load any files to the mini yet?

As Arbor alluded to, the cnx will work with the dtv equipment, but will not get dave's programming. You need to repoint the dish to charlie's birds to get dn. Also, if the dtv lnb is a phase3 lnb, you should replace it as it is designed to work with only the tranponders that dave uses on his birds. It will not work well on charlie's birds.

There is alot of good information here, you just need to do some reading. There is an FTA Accessory section that will help you understand the equipment, and a Dish Pointing section for starters.

Thanks for helping. i've spent some time searching on the form and this is what i got so far.

Its using a old Direct tv satalite with a dual lbn
and the international dish. both going into a zinwell wb68 6x8 multiswitch
then it going into my CNX mini with the setting of 22khz on.
could you send me a link giving me directions on how to redirect teh satalite? or is my settings wrong?

my mistake.
its a direct tv triple lbn with the direct tv satalite.
and on the international theres only one lbn.

Hey there

First off, welcome.

You are going to want to replace the LNB set on that dish for either a Dish Pro (set) i.e., two LNB's in one housing or get yourself, two single, dual LNB's from your local SAT shop (and a Y type yoke) adapter.

This will get you one the road to reception quickly.

Yes, you'll have to make a few mods as to where the dish is pointing ...

First off, go to www.dishpointer.com and then get the settings required for your local area.

Then you'll want to review this thread:

Disregard the specific settings being discussed in the first post, but read the rest of it for some solid advice as to how to do it simply.
