CNX mini wont read patch from USB drive

For some reason for latest patch my mini wont read file from USB drive. I have tried 3 different drives but it would recognize ALL of them, it would READ upgrade file but it just WONT read .EXX file. Since it reads othe files on USB it's not drive issue 110% - at least I can say that. I have rebooted dozen times now but no change, kept it inserted and rebooted and still no change. formatted drives properly FAT32 and no change. I have used EXACT same drives in past without a problem and now all the sudden I face this.

Any help would be greatly appreaciated as I am left with 2 choices, either to dump this box or buy Serial cable.

Also can someone guide me to Serial cable insturctions for MINI please?

Take the USB flash stick out. Reboot the STB, after it reboots, turn it off, insert the flash stick and power it back on. Make sue that the patch is the only thing on the stick...

I used the same file from this site and didnt have any problems. Not sure there buddy.

this is the first time it happened.I prefer abadss.Wheh it didn,t down load I tried other site. IT WORKED.I didn,t look for a reason!

there is a folder within the zip folder and then the file however for some reason.you might have drag and dropped the whole folder on your stick rather than making sure you just placed the file on it.
they're not normally posted like this.but its pretty easy to see the file is inside a reg folder first tho.

tried what you said but no change. that's what i thought guys too and I tried files from 3 different website but same results. It's something within file I bet (but how could it be if it works for you? and strange is I am not newbee too and have had mini for almost year!!!!!!! so know what I am doing !!). Also I tried with EXX file only on root of flash and within 1 folder too just for my curiousity and still no change. it's like it just being stubborn not want to read ONLY exx file. !!!
Can anyone provide me instructions+application to use serial cable method to upload/upgrade mini please? I have got hold of cable from friend and will try that last but don't have anything info/procedure on it...

the problem sounds like you don't have the latest file flashed.

its important to know the latest patch files only work on the latest files.
the confusing part here is that you say you have had your mini for over a year.so im sure you know this.but its thing thing that comes to mind that your missing.
perhaps you mistakenly flashed a factory file and forgot to load 342 again?

there is no loader for cnx units for upgrades.

ok i see the problem.

press menu-utility-factory default.
when the unit reboots.go back into usb and you will then see the patch.press ok as normal.

save your list to usb stick first tho so you can just load it back after.
otherwise you will need to setup and rescan again.

It worked it worked it worked.....I factory restored first. then took USB out. then turned unit OFF, not from back but by unplugging AC cord and leave it out for about a minute and plugged back in. treid patch and it accepted it. oh it's been nightmare...I have another issue with channels though if you all can help.....see recent posts....
