i have a cnx mini i am wondering if there is a way to get more channels right my set up is

DISeq 1
TP Frenquecy 12224
LNB DishPro FSS
22khz tone on
Search option Blindscan
LNB power on

with this set up i get all of the HBOs Starz Cinemax Showtime TMC and a bunch of others, i only get 3 pay per views tho.
i had it set up another way, where i didnt get that many HBOs Starz TMC Cinemax Showtime but i was getting a bunch of pay per views and different channels then mentioned above. so i guess what i am asking is there away to get all the pay per views HBOs Starz Cinemax Showtime and TMC....

i have a dish 500 think it has 2 lnb not sure. it has whatever they come with dont know if they are 1 or 2....

If you are not sure, we sure can't be.......
Look at it, properly identify it and we can tell you what to set.

I do notice that you have Dishpro FSS set, that is normally wrong, Use Dishpro 1

A normal Dish 500 would have:

Sat 119 (Not the DTV one)
DiSEqC 1
LNB Dishpro1

Sat 110
DiSEqC 2
LNB Dishpro 2


Set up your sats through the Channel Search menu not the DisEqC.......and Scan from there also.

so i was told by my friend that set up my box is that i have a Dish 500 with 2 LNB one is Dish pro lnb and the other is Dish pro plus. i tried the the 110 set up but i dont have a dishpro 2. but i did get a bunch of ppv but i also lost some channles. so if u could plz help me that would be great.

I dont think you have 110 and 119 at the same time, that is the only way to get more channels.

do this for your dish:

how to effectively set up and align your dish

1. make sure the pole is plumb and mount the dish onto it.
2. turn your receiver off with the switch on back.
3. if you need a diseqc switch run the cable ( rg6 if possible ) to the proper outlet on it.
4. run one short length of cable from each dish you plan to use to the proper port on the
switch(be sure you have the ports set right in your antenna setup).
5. once your connections are tight turn on the receiver again.
6. select the sat you want to get and go to antenna settings.
7. making sure the sat you want to get is in the top right corner start moving the dish
slowly in the general direction of the signal until you see the quality bar move.
8. if all your lnb's are on one dish you should be tuning the middle one first. to get the others
select the next sat in antenna settings and skew the dish until that one comes in.
9. repeat step 8 until you have signal on all sats.
10. to watch one dish at a time select it in the menu, to watch all the channels select all sats.

DP and DPP both use the setting of Dishpro1.
There is no such thing as Dishpro2.
DishproFSS is for Charlie's linear bird at 118.7 and requires a special LNB.

set ur 22khz tone to off ,,unless ur using a 22khz switch on ur dish,,sounds like u dont have one

so i did what you guys said and got alot more channels but half of them don't come in. my S&Q is good but when i select the channel is gives me the scramble bar. my dish was professinaly installed and has not been touched so it should be inline to receive the direct tv live-up so i don't think it has anything to do with the satelite and something to do on my part. so if anyone can help me plz do...

You cannot get DirectTV, just DN at this time.

is there a better box out there than the mini? i am having nothing but problems with mine. i get all these channels, then the next thing i know i am missing half of them. so i am wonder if there is a better box out there plus i would like it to be an HD box....

The mini is a great box, there are others, but dollar for dollar, it is is an excellent value. In all likelihood, we will be black around the first of July, due to the N3 swap over. If it was me I wouldn't consider investing in an HD box at this time.

Since you say you are getting all the channels and then not....are you sure it is not channels that have been swapped to N3? If not, it could be weather, trees leafing out, poor alignment of the dish, several things.

The last you indicated, you were pointed at Dave's birds and you can't receive his programming at all. Giving us a full accounting of your equipment and setup will assist us greatly in assisting you. Since we can't see your setup, it your responsibility to know and provide us with this info.

Some of the things that help us....
LNB Type
Number of LNBs
Switch types in use
Birds that each LNB is pointed at (110, 119, 97, 129, etc)
How each LNB is connected to switches (ports)

Complete info from the Channel Manager screen in the mini for each bird, including the banner at the bottom. (on 119 bird use the 12239 TP - 12224 is spot beam, if you don't live in the beam, you won't get it) Also what upgrade file and patch you are currently running.

BTW, the Mini has been replaced by the Nano.

Yes put another Dish and conect both satalites With a 4 ways switch and tilted it a litte bit so yuo can get sign, now you can scan o search channels on sat # 1 and Sat # 2, lets say on Sat #1 you can get the channels you have right now and search the ppv in the Sat # 2
