Do I have to format?
Ok, so I always configure the PVR to record a movie when I go to sleep. It has been working Ok with some minor glitches (eg: stb freezes when download complete). This morning however, I checked on the recorded movie and when I go to view my recorded programs, it's says that there is nothing recorded. Even all my old recorded programs are not showing. When I view the Hard Drive info it was sayin 2% used (makes sense, 1TB drive). So I switched the active USB port and switched it back, same thing. I power cycled the stb and now it wants me to format the Hard drive and I really dont want to do that!
So any help/suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Re: Do I have to format?
try doing a factory reset, load the the latest bin file and plug your hard drive back in and do a hard reboot, that might help, i have never had that problem before so cant guarantee that it will work but its a good place to start

Your hard drive is a way to big. 500 gig is the max and only a few stb's can handle that.
This year 3 new models are coming out from sonicview that will support up to a tb.

Hey sorry, my drive is 500G not 1TB, I originally bought a 1TB drive but after reading some threads I decided to downgrade to 500Gigs

Re: Do I have to format?
You want a hard drive with a 8 mb buffer. Less than that an you probably will have issues with it. I recommend a Maxtor as mine has worked perfectly.
