Angry purchased a hard drive upgrade...now what?

I got the 250 mgb hard drive upgrade when I purchased my VS Pro. I can't use PVR...it says I need an external hard drive. What is the purpose of such a big memory upgrade if it can't be used with PVR?

Re: purchased a hard drive upgrade...now what?

Your information is wrong man I have a 500gb hd with over 100 events and movies recorded. Get on hook it up and format it using the Pros program and it will work.
PS I have a 500gb WD My Book , Costcos 139.00$ Check it out.

Re: purchased a hard drive upgrade...now what?

Sorry, I have never read or seen anything about a VSPro with an INTERNAL HD. Everything I have read and experienced with my own is and has been related to an EXTERNAL HD interfaced using USB connection on the rear of the unit. Can you actually see the hard drive which you have (internal) on your menu?? If in fact you have an internal HD is it formatted using the VSPro Lenix method installed on you VSpro?

Personally I have never heard of a PRO having an internal drive, but if yours does let me know, I need another unit.

how many gb do you think are enough for the pro? Would a 8gb flash drive be big enough to record anything?

Re: purchased a hard drive upgrade...now what?

there is no internal drive for anyof the fta recievers and the 250 will be good but make sure that if it is new just plug into the pro and you can format it from there via usb cable

and then you are ready to go .. also you can adjust the amount you want to dedicate to the drive .. you will see read it all in your manual or you can read the help here

Viewsat Pro Help - ABA DSS - Free to Air Satellite TV Community

right above your post .. when you wan to burn or convert ther are alot of tools to do it with here

FTA Downloads - ABA DSS - Free to Air Satellite TV Community

they will record into a file called .trp and the you can convert to mpeg or directly burn then to dvd with convert x to dvd also there
