- Viewsat Pro 2000 Manual
- Viewsat Pro 2000 Firmware
- Viewsat Pro 2000 Loader (although not really needed where I have USB)
I am aiming at trying to turn my computer into the PVR for this receiver. I have done some reading (not specifically on VS2000), and people are saying when they connect their STB to the computer they get asked for drivers (Which is why I downloaded the drivers to install incase I get asked). I have 2 hard drives on the computer.
USB Explorer lets me view files in an explorer view and convert them.
My question is, having the above information am I on the right path to get the PVR functions working? In the manual it says that there is an option to format the drive. Connecting the STB to the computer via USB, will this detect my 2 drives on the computer where one can be formatted (not c:, another partition) to be used for storing the recorded information?
Any help/advice would be great!!

How's This working out for you? I can't quite visualize this working out but who knows.
The PRO already is a PVR and needs to format a hardrive itself.
I see conflicts hooking up two active units[comp and stb].
The way the "PRO" is designed is to have a external hardrive attached and then if you want to tranfer files you dissconnect and hook-up to your comp.[following proper file tranfers]
Anyways you caught my interest. Let us know if you proceed and how it works out..
Be careful of conflicts between machines that could damage either.
