probleme with VS pro setup
Dear Friends,
Here what i have done:
1. Format Usb stick:Fat32.
2. Unzip the lastest bin,put it into stick.
3. Select the "Record Menu" and at the bottom select the USB port: select "front". Put stick into STB.
4. select "Installatoin Menu"and scroll down to "Software Update" list and
click "OK". Nothing happen. I redo the 4 steps above several times and
the result is still the same, the screen do not change, the word "software update" list is still there.

Re: probleme with VS pro setup
Sometimes this happens with my external drive. Usually if I power off the STB from the rear then restart it, it will then redetect the drive, try that and see if it helps

Re: probleme with VS pro setup
Are you getting power to your Zip Drive? You need to go into the set up menu and make sure the USB port you are using is selected. Select the Front USB and save the settings. If you are reading the USB you should get a message pop up that tells you you have the drive installed. Once you get there go into the menu you desribed above and now you will see a prompt to "Update softeware"?. Hit yes and DO NOT remove the USB until it tells you to and hit any key to continue. This will reboot you r box.
Try the USB Front or rear option first then Report back...

You are incorrect...i actually was able to get the flash drive to record. The VS Pro records on the linux file system E2FS, not a fat or ntfs file system. All you need to do is format the drive to ext2 and you will be allowed to record tv. 1gb = about 30 minuts of recording. I actually posted something on here a while ago about recording and which software to use to format the drive using windows.
If you want, I can do up a tutorial

Just throwing it out there....why dont you try placing the flash drive in the receiver first before entering any menus, this way your receiver can detect the hardware device, press OK, then try your update

I'm a little unclear of what your trying to do after reading the whole thread. Are you trying to put the initial files into this receiver using a usb flash drive, if so you may want to use the null modem cable then you can use the usb for updates.
