6100 setup questions and entering keys

to Tech Support & Members:

I am setting a new coolsat 6100 receiver. I downloaded V1.24 onto the receiver and scanned for channels. I have a couple of questions:

1) How do I enter the new Keys? Please provide me with the correct steps
2) When I scan for all satellites, the only I capture is echostar 148. What's the correct method of scanning. Here's what I have

1) Coolsat 6100
2) SW21
3) dish 500 pointing to east/south ( it worked fine when I had MercuryII receiver)

6100pvt scan the Lnb's by it self or auto scans everything. Use update 124 and it should auto scan

When I use the auto detect, my quality signal is zero. Tell me what I am doing worng here? Also do I need to enter the new keys manually? thx.

Hi PH 1521!
The guys are talking you into circles?!......
Changing keys in the Coolsat 6100 won't help you during an ECM! Just keep this in mind, because sometimes people will tell ya it will.......but they're wrong....and funny looking....haha I just added that funny looking part....!

The only time you will need to enter keys is if your AutoRoll (AR) is disabled, or turned off for some reason. Outside of that, you'll never have to enter keys, but you asked, so I will let you in on our little Key secret!

I'll here's the scoop on entering keys........There is two ways....
1)Change Keys using USB Loader
2)Change Keys Manually

Either way is easy, but I will give you the manually way just in case you don't have a thumb drive.

1)Have your STB & your TV both ON

2)On your Remote, Type in 8282 then hit OK.
This will take you to a screen that has a bunch of numbers on the bottom, and at the Top you should see "1 Nagravision ((01 01) for DN) ***If you're on B3V you'll need to highlight this box (but it should already be highlighted) then use your Right Arrow Button to Select "2 Nagravision" ((0901) for B3V). 2 lines down You'll notice the providers change as you scroll from 1 Nagravision to 2 Nagravision

3)Arrow down to line 10 & Hit OK
***This will open up a little window that you can select Letters & Numbers with your remote in order to change the keys. (I am assuming you know where to look for keys....if not let me know!) Here's where it can become hard to understand instructions, until you do this one time......
3a)On Line 10 enter the First 1/2 of Key 86 (or Key 00) <==Depends on your User

3b)Arrow down to Line 11 then hit OK
On Line 11 enter the second 1/2 of Key 86 (or Key 00) <==Depends on your User

3c)Arrow down to line 20 then hit OK
On line 20 enter the First 1/2 of Key 96 (or Key 01) <==Depends on your User

3d)Arrow down to line 21 then hit OK
On line 21 enter the Second 1/2 of Key 96 (or Key 01) <==Depends on your User

4)Check to make sure they are entered Correctly

5)Did you check, or just skip ahead?.....haha

6)Hit the Exit Button

7)A Pop up screen will appear..."Do you want to save Changes?"
Use you arrows to select "Yes" (because you checked to make sure you entered the keys in correctly....haha) Then hit OK

8)Provided your not under the latest ECM, you should be watching TV by now!

Thanks for all the valuable info. My receiver works now. I have one more question and hope you have an answer for me.

1) When autoroll is on, does it change both (0101) and 0106 or just DN (0101)?

It will AutoRoll all the keys that are asked to AutoRoll?.......
If DN Rolls their keys, than just the DN keys will roll, and the same for B3V....Kinda neat like that eh?........

I am glad that your well on your way to FTA land.....I am on B3V....so I have been out for abour 4 days now....;-(......lucky for me I subscribe as well.....haha

Thanks for your tutorial on manually entering the keys. It kicked on right away. Can you provide the link to where the keys can be found as it runs for a few minutes and then locks up, and repeats that scenerio on and on.

Hi Friend.My Coolsat 6100 Down for along time but I really donot know how to make it.
I had used USB and go with BIN # 222 but still not working at all. Can you show me.Thanks

The 6100 is down and I would say it will not be back for awhile. No files working at this time.
