should i bother??

not bashing but looking for new answers...

i bought reciever about a year ago. i am rarely home but when i am reciever is down and there is no fix. so... i now have cable for last few months and havent even tried new fixes because they only last couple days/ hrs when i input new fix, if that long.

is there much hope of these fixes lasting 2 or 3 weeks?

just wondering because like i said i now have crappy cable again only to watch an hr or two a week. almost time for me to renew membership but hardly see any point as i have little luck reprogramming reciever only to see that dreadful scrambelled.

maby i just need to be on different work schedule. thanks anyhow for all the progammers hard work.

Re: should i bother??

Yes I would stick with ABA & the hobby. I would also get a different receiver after reviewing some info in the forums relating to your current choice!

Re: should i bother??

Unfortunately, the support for CS's are pretty bad for that series (6000 7000). Invest in a nice viewsat and use the CS as a doorstop....or possibly a nice paper weight.

Re: should i bother??

have coolsat 6100.
vs,cw, or sv. i am not very computer smart, and lack the patience of waiting for fixes. so which of these recievers is recomended as easiest to use/download. which ones seems to be up the most for bev and comes out fairly quick for fixes?

Re: should i bother??

Listen.
I don't know what your talking about...your CS6100 is never up???
As one other member mentioned above...we been up for the past 2 weeks straight.
But most of the time...CoolSat (along with EVERYBODY else) goes down about once every week. (where you been for the past year or two?)
There is nothing wrong with the Coolsat support. (it's not first...but it's solid)
Everybody you hear bashing CoolSat support (or products) jumped ship a long time ago & don't know what they are talking about.
In case you haven't noticed...most of the time, we go down on Wed or Thur.

We started freezing today at 4PM EST...it continues to freeze until we get a new bin.
I expect to see that new bin tonight, in a few more hours.
Most often, we are back up the next day & good for a week.

And we are never up for 2 or 3 weeks. (except on rare occasions)
There is always a working fix posted here in the downloads section, except for times like right now, when we get hit with an ECM.

There's not another receiver easier to setup than the CS6100...it has Auto Setup.
You could get a SonicView...but only get support a few hours faster, and no auto setup. (plus $$$)

If you can't wait a few more hours for the fix...then get it tomorrow & you should be up 'till next week bro.
