Virus with uploader?
Hello All,
I downloaded the suggested uploader for the coolsa 6100 from this site, but Norton Anti-virus 360 tells me that it contains a virus and deletes the file. Anyone else have this problem? Anyone know what I should do now?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks

Re: Virus with uploader?
yes, i'm talking about the 7000 loader. Anyone else seen this? I'm thinking that it's a problem with Norton settings since I just upgraded.

Re: Virus with uploader?
I haven't read of any other members with problems, but I do know that Nortons is famous for calming viruses just because it doesn't recognize something.

Re: Virus with uploader?
it sees the file as executable and in the real world, running unknown exe files is a huge risk. that being said, im sure this file is fine as it is used by many so the warning just needs to be ignored. you could always temp disable norton when you fetch the file.

Re: Virus with uploader?
Agree with you hazwis, I just installed this 2009 version in my PC and I am getting same message. I am sure the downloader is safe, it's just the file in exe format...

Re: Virus with uploader?
McAfee does the same, just disable youre virus protection to use the 7000 loader. When enabling virus protection it will probably delete youre 7000 loader. Its a pain, maybe somebody can come up with a solution to fix this glitch.

Re: Virus with uploader?
I think a lot of the new Virus protection programs are saying this. I have Norton 360 with 09 version and it says this also. All the files here are safe. It's just the virus protection thats doing this...

Re: Virus with uploader?
all files that are .exe are always more of a risk like some of the guys have stated. Norton has become a little over protective, and they block low risk but continue to miss the small things that will do more harm. Your fine using the file, because you know what it is and what its for, but in the future if something comes up ending in .exe then you should be sure to check before allowing windows to open it. Under no circumstance should you disable your anti virus protection when downloading anything...even from a safe site like this one...with that new worm going around, you should be even more vigilante.

Re: Virus with uploader?
You should use a flash drive to load the bin much qicker you dont have to disconnect the stb dont have to have a loader program just download the bin unzip it using winrar or winzip and export it to your flash drive plug the flash into the stb hit menu scroll tousb mass storage press ok a window pops up ask update program press ok prompt comes up update?pess RED button bin will load after it loads and an unscrambles channel comes up turn the power off from the back switch remove flash drive turn on enjoy
