KOMBI - has a few questions
Hey Kombi
This is the area of the system dedicated to all things nFusion, so you'll get some good info here.
Here are KOMBI's questions:
I will try to make this quick. please dont bast me for asking stupid questions. im thinking about getting a Nfusion nova receiver so all questions would be based on that. I have a primestar dish. saw a webpage that someone had a set up with that dish. now thats thats said here we go. To get all KU band birds. How many dishes would I need. if I had a motor (I know a heavy duty one) on that dish. Can I use just 1 dish. If i go big dish with a positioner,do i still need a bunch of smaller dishes also. (At some point I also want to get c band) If I need more than 1 dish. How maney would I need to get all birds. What is the best LNb. I read that I can use the primestar with a DTV 3x4 box( I have one around) if I use 1 dish how maney LNB's do I need on it and what kind. If I use a big dish. I know I need a c/ku feedhorn. But will an older one work. or would I have to buy a new one. I have a few DTV dishes around with LNB's. Can i use them for anything. The LNB's I mean. Do I need a positioner? With the right receiver, Will that move the dish? I understand this 90, 101 110 thing from my dtv dish. but how does that work with fta? If i got a multi lnb adapter for my dish. how will that help me. (With dish motor) I know some of these are basic questions. I was hopping someone might point me in the right direction. Thanks guys.

Re: KOMBI - has a few questions
Based upon the first part of your post, it is my belief that nFusion is primarily built to address several of the main Birds scannable from North America.
So you'll be able to check into those with it. In addition to pulling in other FTA stuff like 121 etc ... provided you have that good sized dish you mentioned.

Re: KOMBI - has a few questions
You wont be able to pull stuff from 101. That's not possible.
With a motor you only require 1 LNB, and everytime you switch signal providers i.e., 121 etc ... the dish moves to the location needed for that provider.

Re: KOMBI - has a few questions
Ok so from what I am understanding. When you say 101 its just an easier way that saying echostar 4? or galaxy 28. I think im understanding. I used to mess around with a big dish. so 1 dish. It will be the primestar. Thats the largest dish I have. 1 lnb. Can I use the primestar with? I was told I would have to feed the h and v into a dtv switch or they would burn out. or should I get a new lnb?

Re: KOMBI - has a few questions
Ok. I have been askig questions about keys. From what I understand. The Nova will update its keys over the net? So no connecting to a computer or usb flash drive.

Re: KOMBI - has a few questions
Correct, all of the updates for the nFusion once you get it installed and operational are done via the 'net'.
So no USB, in fact the nFusiondoesn't offer a USB port.

Re: KOMBI - has a few questions
On any other reciever except the nFusion and the Neosat (Internet updating types) you'll need to ensure you have both keys and the latest firmware (signal conditioning) for your receiver.
HD on DN requires you to also purchase an add-on module at about $200.00plus. But for B3V this is not required.

Re: KOMBI - has a few questions
I'm sure in time they will roll out a unit that offers HD capability. Right now their unit does not offer it, many don't.

Re: KOMBI - has a few questions
Also what is this add on module ? My thing is. When I do this. I might get everything at one so I dont really have to add anything in the near future. But I know that can change on a dime.

yes, thats a good dish.you cannot get providers dtv channels on 101.
yes you can use that lnb,and yes you will combine the V and H (vertical, horizontal) ports into a switch like a 22khz/sw21/diseqc.whatever works best with nfusion.
you wont burn anything out if use one of those ports.it simply wont get both polarities.which would- loss of many channels of course.
also.this lnb is for linear birds only.such as 121w 123w 97w etc.
it will not work for 119/110/82/91 bev and dn popular birds.
with a motor, its best to use the invacom quad lnb.this will let you get circular birds and linear birds.
its THE lnb to have for motorized dishes.a great setup for your primstar dish.though not sure how it would mount in there,im sure you can figure out a way to secure it if it doesn't bolt up.

Re: KOMBI - has a few questions
Ok. Thanks for the answer. So the way to go is the invacom lnb. Thats from what I understand. The primestar dish connects the lnb via a clamp on the round part of the lnb. Mounting should not be a problem. if I have that lnb, motor, and the nova receiver (with the proper firmware and keys) I should get just about everything.
