Transparent Proxy - This type of proxy server identifies itself as a proxy server and also makes the original IP address available through the http headers. These are generally used for their ability to cache websites and do not effectively provide any anonymity to those who use them. However, the use of a transparent proxy will get you around simple IP bans. They are transparent in the terms that your IP address is exposed, not transparent in the terms that you do not know that you are using it (your system is not specifically configured to use it.)
Anonymous Proxy - This type of proxy server indentifies itself as a proxy server, but does not make the original IP address available. This type of proxy server is detectable, but provides reasonal anonymity for most users.
Distorting Proxy - This type of proxy server identifies itself as a proxy server, but make an incorrect original IP address available through the http headers.
High Anonymity Proxy - This type of proxy server does not identify itself as a proxy server and does not make available the original IP address.
IF YOU WANT TO BE ANONYMOUS~
The use of a Transparent Proxy does NOT provide anonymity for your IP address.
If you put this proxy setting in your PC's web browser proxy settings and go to:
1.
My WAN IP - IP Address Detection (mywanip.com)
2.
What is my IP address? Show my LAN and WAN IP address.
You will see your actual ip address.
Generally speaking, a Transparent Proxy is used to cache frequently-requested-content (not protect your privacy).
Expecting anonymity from an Anonymizing proxy server makes sense.
Expecting anonymity from a Transparent Proxy? Why? How?
I consider a "Transparent" Proxy to be the same as "Glass", your IP address is "see-thru".
More info can be found here:

Now regardless of all of the above, given that IKS is using that scattered proxy on the server side.
So then why bother using a Transparent Proxy on your nfusion?
With a Transparent Proxy, if your IP address does NOT have anonymity then what have you really accomplished?
In fact, with a Transparent Proxy there are now additional delays introduced between your nfusion and the IKS server(s).
My 2 cents, if you want to anonymity for your IP address then follow these steps:
1st - Find (another) Anonymous Proxy server.
2nd - Put that proxy info in your PC's web browser proxy settings and go to the above 2 sites to see if your real IP shows up.
3rd - If your real IP address shows up then this was not an anonymous proxy server. Then start with the 1st step again.
4th - Use this proxy info in your nfusion proxy settings.
5th - If you get frequent "service not available" messages in nfusion then this proxy is too slow. Then start with the 1st step again.
Yes, it is lot of work but it is worth it if you find fast and anonymous proxy server.
But I still believe that introducing Proxy Settings in 1.44 is a step in the right direction.
